Job Description

We are looking for an IT Asset Manager to be responsible for governing and improving the end-to-end lifecycle management of technology assets. This position will be full-time and onsite in Cleveland, OH.

What You'll Do

  • The IT Asset Manager, under the supervision of the Director of IT Asset and Quality Management, is responsible for governing and improving the end-to-end lifecycle management of technology assets—from planning and purchase through deployment, inventory control, audits/reconciliation, refresh, and final disposition

  • The role also supports strategic sourcing and procurement activities to ensure the district receives the best overall value, reduces risk, and maintains compliance across hardware, software licensing, and technology service contracts

  • Own IT asset lifecycle oversight for district technology resources (e.g., student/staff computing devices, hotspots, mobile phones, digital displays, network equipment, peripherals, and related technology resources)

  • Maintain accurate inventory records across ordering, receiving, tagging, deployment, and tracking systems; ensure data integrity and reconciliation between systems

  • Plan, forecast, and maintain inventory required for district technology operations; partner with internal teams to align demand, refresh cycles, and deployment schedules

  • Conduct regular audits of inventory and software systems for accuracy, accountability, and compliance; investigate variances and coordinate corrective actions

  • Investigate, evaluate, identify, and resolve problems, issues, or conditions involving asset management, process gaps, and controls

  • Develop, maintain, and improve documentation (standard operating procedures, work instructions, inventory standards, and training materials) to support consistent asset practices districtwide

  • Collaborate with IT functional areas (including 1:1 Program, Infrastructure & Operations, and Customer Excellence), Central Office, schools, and other stakeholders to ensure policies and procedures are followed, and assets are properly accounted for

  • Support strategic sourcing and procurement by gathering requirements, developing scopes, supporting RFI/RFP processes, and coordinating supplier communications as needed

  • Facilitate procure-to-pay activities including requisitioning support, invoice reconciliation, and coordination with procurement/finance partners to ensure timely processing and accurate asset financial records

  • Contribute to cost control and value optimization through data analysis, market research, and identification of ordering/spend inefficiencies; recommend improvements and support negotiations and vendor performance discussions as directed

  • Support contract and license governance by helping track renewals/terminations, identifying risks related to lapses in contracts/services, and coordinating internal decision timelines

  • Support E-Rate/federal funding compliance activities as applicable to IT asset sourcing and documentation needs

  • Manage time efficiently, prioritize multiple deadlines, and work with minimal supervision

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Education: High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (business, supply chain, information systems, finance, operations, or related field)

  • Experience: Relevant experience in IT asset management, inventory control, warehousing/logistics, procurement, strategic sourcing, contract support, or a related operational/analytical role preferred

  • Very well organized with strong attention to detail; able to maintain accurate records and perform reconciliations

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work effectively with school-based staff, central office teams, and external partners

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data (e.g., spreadsheets, reports) and translate findings into process improvements

  • Track record of successful project completion and ability to work independently

  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Executive Director, IT Strategy Execution and Governance may find appropriate and acceptable

  • Must establish and maintain satisfactory, respectful working relationships within the school environment

  • May be required to work non-regular hours occasionally; must be punctual and dependable

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

  • Work is performed in an office and warehouse environment and includes school/site visits.

  • Occasionally transports up to 75 pounds in a warehouse environment.
