Your Role and Responsibilities

You will support strategic technology direction by contributing their own ideas for identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative technology, software, and/or solutions. You will support the Research and Development (R&D) team by executing assigned tasks under supervision and by using technical knowledge in a structured way.

This role is contributing to the Electrification, Smart Power in Italy.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Use technical know-how in their own area of competence to solve problems.

• Stay abreast of the state of the art in their own competence area and actively applies this knowledge as required. Know some of the key drivers for ABB in their own business/technology area and perform activities in line with the current direction.

• Understand the customer value created from their own R&D activities.

• Leverage know-how in their own technical area to propose creative ideas in R&D activities. Support the achievement of assigned targets (quality, time, scope, cost), and raise and address risks.

• Adhere to applicable processes, standards, guidelines, and requirements.

• Utilize the key R&D tools used in their own organization.

• Contribute to the quality of ABB's offering in their own area of responsibility.

• Contribute to product and process improvement programs.

Qualifications for the Role

• Education: a bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Technical Skills: good knowledge of MS-Office tools.

• Knowledge of SAP would be considered a plus.

• Languages: a good knowledge of English and Italian.

• Soft Skills: a collaborative, proactive and solution-focused approach, and good written and spoken communication skills.
