ING is a market leader in the Belgian financial leasing market and offers clients a complete service for the leasing of assets for professional use. Leasing is serviced through ING Lease Belgium, a subsidiary of ING Bank Belgium and offered to ING Wholesale Banking clients across Europe.

As an International Structured Lease Associate, you will take an active role in originating and executing leasing transactions for ING Wholesale Banking clients. You will analyze client needs, help structure tailored leasing solutions and coordinate the internal approval, negotiation, documentation and implementation process. The role combines client contact, financial analysis, stakeholder management and transaction execution across domestic and international deals. You will work closely with experienced colleagues from Lease and other Wholesale Banking teams, report to the Head of Sales and gradually take ownership of your own transactions and portfolio.

Your key responsibilities

• You will be responsible for managing International Lease requests, combining the origination and execution of new transactions with the ongoing management of the WB lease portfolio (annual reviews, waivers, etc.).
• You lead or support the origination and execution of complex or non-standard leasing transactions, such as syndications and cross-border leases, in collaboration with Lease colleagues and other bank teams.
• You visit customers with other lease colleagues or relationship managers in the framework of the leasing relationship, gathering useful information, assessing opportunities and contributing to originate new transactions
• You will be responsible for aligning internal stakeholders, preparing asset advice and credit approval packages, and presenting and defending lease requests in accordance with ING procedure before the relevant approval mandate holders and credit committee.
• You will structure and lead the negotiation of the leasing facilities with customers and the follow-up of the implementation/documentation of new leasing facilities with other bank colleagues and/or in collaboration with ING Legal Department (or external legal counsel) and with our Tax specialist.
• You increase lease awareness with the colleagues of ING Wholesale Banking
• You build expertise in the continuous evolution of the leasing matters: asset knowledge, transaction structure, tax, legal, markets trends…

Knowledge:

•  a university degree
• knowledge of banking or leasing products, services and processes, ideally gained as a lending analyst or in another corporate banking role.
• A solid understanding of financial analysis, credit risk and transaction structuring.

Work experience:

• 1 to 5 years’ working experience in a commercial/corporate banking environment is a plus.
