About the Role

Join our Enablon team as an Industry Solutions Technology Consultant – Safety & Risk SME and bring deep safety management expertise to the development of innovative enterprise software solutions.
 

In this role, you will work as an embedded member of a cross-functional product team, partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, and customers to ensure solutions reflect real-world safety management practices, risk-based decision making, and organizational learning principles. Your expertise will help shape product capabilities, validate customer needs, and translate complex safety challenges into scalable software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Managers and Engineering teams throughout discovery, design, development, validation, and release activities.
• Participate in customer workshops, interviews, and design-partner engagements to understand how organizations identify, investigate, and learn from safety events and operational risks.
• Define and validate safety-domain models, evidence requirements, decision frameworks, and business rules.
• Provide subject matter expertise across safety management, incident management, process safety, risk management, controls, and organizational learning disciplines.
• Evaluate and challenge proposed product capabilities to ensure safety validity, practical applicability, and industry relevance.
• Support the creation of requirements, specifications, process models, and domain documentation.
• Contribute to the development of industry best practices, methodologies, and knowledge assets.
• Help identify emerging industry trends, regulatory expectations, and evolving safety management practices.
• Validate customer use cases and business outcomes through ongoing collaboration with product and customer teams.
• Act as a trusted advisor to Product and Engineering teams on safety, risk, and learning-related topics.

Skills & Experience

Industry Expertise

• Deep experience in high-hazard or safety-critical industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Utilities, Mining, Energy, Manufacturing, Transportation, Construction, or similar sectors.
• Strong credibility gained through direct involvement in safety, risk, or process safety leadership roles.
• Experience leading or supporting enterprise safety improvement initiatives, risk reduction programs, or Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) prevention efforts.

Domain Knowledge

• Strong understanding of Safety Management Systems and risk-based safety programs.
• Experience with incident and near-miss reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and lessons learned processes.
• Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and critical risk controls.
• Understanding of how incidents, hazards, controls, barriers, and risk signals influence operational and safety decisions.
• Familiarity with integrated management systems and related operational risk disciplines.
• Experience using safety data to drive prevention, learning, and continuous improvement outcomes.

Professional Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to connect incidents, impacts, controls, corrective actions, and risk insights into meaningful business outcomes.
• Skilled at communicating with frontline personnel, operational leaders, safety professionals, and executives.
• Able to challenge assumptions constructively and influence decision-making through evidence-based reasoning.
• Capable of translating complex safety concepts into structured business requirements and product capabilities.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous and evolving environments.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work as a peer partner within cross-functional teams.

Working Model

• Full-time role embedded within a product development team.
• Active participation in product discovery, design, validation, and development activities.
• Daily collaboration with Product Management and Engineering rather than operating as a periodic reviewer or consultant.
• Regular participation in customer engagements, design reviews, and validation activities.
• Shared accountability for ensuring solutions align with safety principles, operational realities, customer needs, and business outcomes.
• Constructive challenge and evidence-based decision-making are encouraged as part of normal team operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in safety, process safety, risk management, operational excellence, or related disciplines.
• Experience implementing or using enterprise software supporting incident management, safety management, process safety, risk management, or operational excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to bridge industry expertise with technology and product development teams.
