About the Role

As part of Accenture’s Process Excellence organization within Strategy & Consulting, you will work with clients in Malaysia and across the region to transform business processes and unlock measurable business value through digital, data and AI-enabled solutions.

You will support pharmaceutical, biotechnology and MedTech organizations in transforming regulated business processes across Research & Development (R&D), Quality & Validation, Regulatory Affairs and Commercial Operations.

This role combines Life Sciences industry knowledge, process excellence methodologies, digital transformation capabilities and consulting expertise to deliver practical, compliant and sustainable business outcomes.

As a Consultant, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across business, technology, engineering, quality and operations. You will contribute to regional and global transformation initiatives, support the development of reusable solutions and help organizations improve operational efficiency, strengthen compliance and accelerate digital adoption.

The ideal candidate is a process-oriented professional who can understand business challenges, identify improvement opportunities and translate business requirements into effective digital, data, automation and AI-enabled solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Life Sciences Process Discovery & Redesign

• Plan and conduct process discovery through stakeholder interviews, workshops, document reviews, data analysis and current-state process mapping across Life Sciences value chains.
• Evaluate end-to-end workflows, business handoffs, roles, systems, controls, exceptions and operational challenges.
• Develop future-state process designs, operating model recommendations and implementation roadmaps.
• Apply process excellence methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, value stream mapping, root-cause analysis, standard work and KPI development to improve quality, productivity, cycle time, compliance and user experience.
• Support transformation initiatives across R&D, digital laboratories, Quality & Validation, Regulatory Affairs and Commercial Operations.

2. Regulated Delivery, Quality & Compliance

• Apply a strong quality mindset and documentation discipline when supporting regulated or GxP-related environments.
• Ensure process documentation incorporates clear requirements, traceability, controls, approvals and supporting evidence.
• Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Validation, IT and business stakeholders to ensure process designs align with relevant policies, risk controls and validation requirements.
• Support the development of process governance frameworks, decision-making structures, performance measures and continuous improvement practices.

3. Digital, Data, Automation & AI Enablement

• Identify opportunities to simplify, digitize and automate business processes through workflow platforms, process mining, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), analytics, Generative AI and agentic solutions.
• Translate business and process requirements into structured documentation, user journeys, process blueprints, acceptance criteria and business rules.
• Assess data availability, quality, lineage and traceability requirements across clinical, laboratory, quality, regulatory and commercial processes.
• Support the development of prototypes, proof of concepts and business cases to demonstrate measurable business value.
• Work with technology and engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions consider scalability, security, regulatory compliance and operational readiness.
• Identify appropriate human oversight and control mechanisms when implementing AI-enabled solutions.

4. Consulting, Delivery & Asset Development

• Facilitate client workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions, consolidate findings and communicate recommendations through professional presentations and working documents.
• Develop performance baselines, KPIs, benefit hypotheses and business cases to measure transformation outcomes.
• Monitor improvement opportunities across cycle-time reduction, right-first-time performance, productivity, adoption and control effectiveness.
• Contribute to proposal development, solution design, effort estimation and delivery planning for Life Sciences transformation opportunities.
• Develop reusable process blueprints, assessment tools, validation templates, onboarding guides, operational playbooks and other consulting assets.
• Collaborate with local, regional and global teams to support delivery excellence and contribute to the growth of the Life Sciences consulting capability in Kuala Lumpur.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Relevant Life Sciences industry experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, MedTech or other closely related regulated environments.
• Working knowledge of at least one of the following domains: R&D / Laboratories, Quality & Validation, Regulatory Affairs or Commercial Operations.
• Hands-on experience in business process analysis, current-state assessment, future-state process design, workflow optimization and process documentation.
• Understanding of regulated Life Sciences environments and GxP principles, including documentation discipline, traceability, risk-based controls, approvals and validation considerations.
• Ability to translate business processes into structured requirements, user stories, business rules, control points, KPIs and implementation-ready process designs.
• Experience facilitating workshops and engaging cross-functional stakeholders across business, quality, technology, data and operations.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills.
• Understanding of how data, analytics, automation and AI can improve business processes, with an appreciation of appropriate human oversight and governance.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment and collaborate with multicultural, regional and global teams.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Exposure to Life Sciences platforms and technology ecosystems such as Veeva Vault / PromoMats, IQVIA solutions, Salesforce Health Cloud, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Experience in digital laboratories, laboratory automation, instrument connectivity, lab informatics, data standardization or connected-lab architecture.
• Familiarity with process mining and process modelling tools such as Celonis, SAP Signavio, ARIS, Microsoft Visio or BPMN-based tools.
• Experience with workflow automation or RPA platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath or Automation Anywhere.
• Exposure to Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM)-based solutions, including use-case development, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic workflows and responsible AI practices.
• Experience supporting change management, impact assessments, user adoption, training, operating model design or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent process improvement qualifications.
• Relevant certifications in Life Sciences, quality, validation, digital platforms, data or AI.
• Previous consulting or professional services experience, including client-facing delivery, proposal development and project planning.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Business, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• Typically 3–6 years of relevant experience in Life Sciences operations, consulting, process excellence, digital transformation, quality, validation, data or technology-enabled transformation.
• A postgraduate qualification in a relevant scientific, engineering, digital or business discipline would be an added advantage.
