What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $80,217.00 - $132,358.00, and the anticipated hiring range is between $80,217.00 - $106,288.00. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work at least 3 days in office at the Castro Building (1200 N Federal Blvd) Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

Denver Human Services (DHS) is seeking a highly skilled and qualified candidate to serve in the role of  Human Services Operations Manager in the Family and Adult Assistance Division (FAAD). As the Human Services Operations Manager, you will be expected to oversee eligibility teams focused on ensuring accurate and timely processing of public assistance benefits at the main Castro office, for the City and County of Denver. Additionally, you will provide second level supervisory work over the Family and Adult Assistance Division of Denver Human Services through subordinate front-line supervisors.

Specifically, as a Human Services Operations Manager you will:

• Uphold and encourage the DHS Leadership Model, derived from six core performance factors: Organizational Leadership & Navigation, Standards and Values, Collaborative Partnerships, Workforce Development, Critical Evaluation and Process and Project Management 
• Program planning and implementation related to timely processing, quality assurance, customer service, and personnel
• Track and advise staff on policy and procedural changes at the federal, state and county level 
• Maintain a positive leadership approach that fosters an ideal workplace environment where employees can share ideas and grow within the agency 
• Supervise 6-7 supervisors which each supervise teams of eligibility professionals

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

• Supervisory experience of exempt and non-exempt staff strongly preferred, ideally within a Human Service agency 
• Experience in community outreach and collaboration 
• Working knowledge of the Colorado Benefit Management System and eligibility program knowledge  
• Experience with public assistance programs, ideally in the state of Colorado
• Ability to assess program strengths and weaknesses for process improvement opportunities
• Familiarity with data visualization tools

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of supervisory experience within an operational area.
Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.

Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.

Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
