The HR Operations Specialist manages day-to-day HR processes for employees in Argentina. The role is responsible for completing core HR activities accurately and consistently, resolving operational matters, and maintaining reliable employee records.
This is a brand new role following successful, rapid growth in our Buenos Aires office. You will have opportunities for broader international HR operations exposure. You will also highly collaborate with other corporate functions including Finance and Payroll.
You will be supported by some local staff as well as various HR and Corporate colleagues internationally, particularly in the UK and USA.
Employee lifecycle and HR operations
Act as first line of contact for all HR matters in Argentina.
Manage local employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, employment changes, and offboarding.
Coordinate onboarding activities to provide new employees with a clear and well-organised introduction to the business.
Maintain accurate employee records and supporting documentation.
Process employee data changes in Workday, including updates relating to compensation, promotions, benefits, and employment status.
Respond to employee queries and resolve day-to-day HR operational issues promptly and consistently.
Support year-end review processes (appraisals, compensation letters and promotions)
Identify process gaps and recommend practical improvements.
Benefits administration
Manage the administration of employee benefits in Argentina.
Act as a point of contact for employees, HR colleagues, and local benefits providers.
Support the implementation and communication of benefits policies.
Maintain accurate benefits records and coordinate enrolments, changes, and terminations.
Compliance and policies
Support compliance with local employment requirements and internal HR policies.
Maintain local HR policies, templates, and process documentation.
Monitor relevant changes in Argentine employment law and coordinate policy or process updates with internal teams and external employment counsel.
Maintain complete and accurate records to support internal reviews and statutory requirements.
Handle employee information with appropriate confidentiality and care.
Payroll and vendor coordination
Provide accurate and timely employee information to the Payroll and Finance teams.
Support payroll preparation by coordinating employee changes, benefits deductions, new starters, and leavers.
Assist with the review and resolution of payroll queries.
Coordinate relationships with local providers, including benefits administrators, payroll providers, and employment lawyers.
Support invoice administration, service reviews, and issue resolution with local vendors.
Experience and skills
Relevant experience in HR operations, HR administration, or a similar role.
Working knowledge of Argentine employment practices and HR compliance requirements.
Experience in a standalone HR role in-country or working in a small team with various responsibilities.
Experience managing employee lifecycle processes, benefits administration, and payroll inputs.
Experience using an HR information system; Workday experience is preferred.
Practical problem-solving skills and the judgment to escalate issues when needed.
Strong attention to detail and a consistent approach to record keeping.
Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with colleagues and providers across different countries and time zones.
Fluent in English and Spanish.
