About the role
The primary role is to perform, analyse and report oesophageal physiology tests: oesophageal high-resolution manometry, 24-hour pH studies and Endoflip.
Be part of a specialist service – work alongside gastroenterologists and a multidisciplinary team within the Centre for Swallowing & Oesophageal Disorders, Department of Gastroenterology, St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney.
Learn, contribute and grow – support the Centre’s large clinical research program, with opportunity to be supervised to obtain a higher degree by research (e.g. PhD).
Technical skills and quality control – operate specialised equipment, troubleshoot technical issues with hardware, maintain high laboratory standards, infection control.
Keep quality at the forefront – ensure accurate test results, strong quality assurance, and safe, patient-focused practice.
About you
Human Physiology expertise – BSc or equivalent qualification with a strong foundation in Human Physiology.
This is a patient-facing role, so you should be an excellent verbal communicator and enjoy interacting with and reassuring patients.
You should be comfortable that the role involves performing invasive procedures as part of clinical measurement (insertion of manometry and pH catheters transnasally), training will be provided.
Technical skills and ability to troubleshoot are helpful.
