The Job

• Support company HNW business

• Be responsible for underwriting high sum assured cases

• Liaise and strive for best offer from reinsurer on high sum assured cases

• Work with other departments in different projects, including product development

• Establish underwriting rules and guidelines following the company policy and product specification

• Review and create underwriting practices and guidelines which demonstrate improved effectiveness in underwriting

• Play a key supporting role in monitoring and ensuring the alignment and quality of the underwriting practice and decision

• Coach and offer guidance to underwriters. Provide credit decisions and recommendations for complex cases

• Provide training to sales partners and team members

• Handle enquires from peers, sales partners and other departments

The Person

• University graduate or above, with professional qualifications such as FLMI, ALU etc.

• Minimum 10 years relevant experience in underwriting and new business processing of Life and Health products, including HNW product, of which 5 years or more at management level

• Technical:  An expert in underwriting assessment and risk management with sound knowledge in underwriting high sum assured cases.  Experience in product development will be an advantage.

• Quality Decisions: Application of experience and knowledge to quickly assess a situation and make quality decisions. HNW UW authority at USD 10M above is preferred

• Business Knowledge: Acquires and applies knowledge in pursuit of competitiveness. Understands key business drivers and the competitor environment.

• Communication and Influencing Skills:  Ability to clearly articulate ideas and solutions.  Ability to gain support and inspire others.

• Problem solving: Ability to prioritize issues, assess problem and seek timely solution. Have strong communication skill and negotiation skill with Reinsurer
