Aurora Charter Oak Hospital has been delivering Behavioral Health Treatment Services for over 83 years. We are located on 10 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in Covina, California. Covina is about 22 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in the San Gabriel Valley, close to 10, 60 and 210 FWY.

Responsibilities include:

• Process incoming records requests using HIPAA, Hospital Policies and Regulatory Guidelines
• Verify subpoenas and court orders for validity and respond within strict deadlines
• Access and compile computerized and paper medical records and reviews for accuracy prior to printing, mailing and faxing the records
• Handle all incoming calls related to Health Information requests
• Verify all Release of Information requests are valid and meet HIPAA standards under Behavioral Healthcare and Chemical Dependency regulations
• Meet with patients to facilitate coordination of healthcare information to Patient's and medical providers
• Provides good customer service and represents facility in a positive manner
• Other related duties as requested

Requirements

Education & Experience:

• High school degree or equivalent required
• 2 years healthcare experience
• Experience in psychiatric facility preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology with specific familiarly with psychiatric terminology helpful
• Experience with ICD 10 CM procedures and use of DSM III R helpful
• General clerical and office procedure skills
• Business correspondence and communication skills
