The Opportunity
Westgold is seeking a proactive and field-focused Health & Safety Advisor to support our Drilling Operations across multiple sites.
Reporting to the Group Manager Drilling, you will work closely with drilling crews, supervisors and site leadership teams to promote a strong safety culture, provide practical guidance in the field, and ensure compliance with company standards and legislative requirements.
This role is suited to a safety professional who enjoys building relationships, influencing positive safety behaviours and partnering with operational teams to achieve safe and productive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide frontline health and safety support to drilling operations.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Facilitate incident investigations and support corrective actions.
- Coach and mentor employees and contractors on safe work practices.
- Assist with safety training, inductions and competency requirements.
- Promote hazard identification and proactive risk management.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures and legislation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across drilling operations.
- Develop strong working relationships with site-based stakeholders.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety.
- Experience in mining, drilling or heavy industry environments.
- Strong knowledge of risk management and incident investigation processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A practical and collaborative approach to safety.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.
Highly Regarded
- Experience supporting drilling operations.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Senior First Aid qualification.
- Knowledge of WA mining legislation and regulations.
- Drilling industry qualifications or operational experience.
