Full-Time Position
- Lead the Video Department to achieve and sustain the desired creative effect for every performance, as directed by the production’s Designer and Director.
- Oversee all aspects of the video system, including projection, LED walls, live camera feeds, playback, and control software.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all video equipment and systems specific to the production to ensure safe, accurate, and consistent operation.
- Manage and facilitate all live and pre-recorded video feeds, ensuring playback quality and synchronization during performances.
- Oversee translation and surtitle elements where applicable, ensuring accuracy and timing.
- Collaborate closely with the Lighting (LX) team to coordinate shared load-in, focus, and maintenance responsibilities.
- Implement and document regular inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures for all video systems, playback software, and networked components.
- Ensure all systems are operational and show-ready for every performance.
- Supervise and schedule department needs in coordination with the Production Manager, Technical Direction, and other department heads.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and hands-on training for cross-trained technical swings, developing their competency in video systems and fostering a culture of teamwork, problem-solving, and accountability.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager and Technical Direction team to adapt video systems and projection setups to fit various venues while maintaining creative integrity.
- Act as the primary contact for all video-related matters with venue personnel, touring presenters, and local crews.
- Participate in post-show notes sessions with the Stage Management team to address any video-related issues and implement improvements for subsequent performances.
- Oversee departmental purchasing, inventory, and budget in collaboration with the Production Manager.
- Track expenditures, maintenance, and consumable use; forecast replacements and upgrades.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, wiring diagrams, and maintenance logs for all venues.
- Champion and enforce all Blue Man Group and CDSEG health and safety policies across all operations.
- Ensure all electrical and rigging practices within the Video Department meet safety standards.
- Promote a proactive safety culture that prioritizes the well-being of performers, crew, and audience members.
- Plan and manage all video-related load-ins, setups, and loadouts at each venue in coordination with the Production Manager and other department heads.
- Oversee the safe dismantling, packing, and transport of all video equipment within tour timelines.
- Assist in adapting system configurations to varying venue sizes and performance layouts while maintaining creative consistency.
- Support and execute video adjustments for special events, promotional appearances, and press activities as needed.
- Participate in venue evaluations and technical advances for upcoming tour stops.
- Perform additional projects and duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Technical Direction.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Video Engineering, Media Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in video systems or projection design for live entertainment or touring productions.
- Proficiency in video control and playback systems (e.g., Resolume, Watchout, QLab, or similar).
Strong knowledge of projection, LED, and networking systems for live performance environments. - Experience leading or supervising technical teams in a touring context.
- Familiarity with Blue Man Group’s performance style and multimedia integration is a plus.
- Must be able to travel domestically for extended periods (Nov 2026–Dec 2026) and maintain eligibility for U.S. employment and travel.
