  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk, HR, Operations and the wider Training & Development team on regulatory change, control enhancements, learning initiatives and cross-functional projects.
  • Build effective relationships with relevant external professional bodies and suppliers; stay current on industry practice and developments relevant to T&C, professional standards and wealth management.

  • Partner with HR Business Partners and Group Centres of Excellence to deliver annual succession planning, ensuring appropriate development pathways for key talent.
  • Align learning with talent, performance, succession, reward, recruitment, wellbeing, inclusion and processes.
  • Work with SMEs in the HR team and wider business, to assess how AI, automation and digital learning may change Training and Development, progression pathways and leadership requirements.

Leadership and team management

  • Provide visible leadership for the Training & Development team, setting clear direction, priorities, service standards and accountabilities across both T&C and general learning and development.
  • Lead, coach and develop team members; set objectives, manage performance and capacity, build succession and ensure the team has the regulatory, technical, learning-design and stakeholder-management capability required.

  • Strong experience in delivering commercial and pragmatic learning and development programmes across all levels.
  • Strong working knowledge of FCA T&C expectations, SM&CR, Conduct Rules, Fitness & Propriety and Consumer Duty, and the ability to apply these pragmatically.
  • Experience of competence assessment, supervision frameworks, CPD/SPS controls, T&C record management and governance reporting.
  • Ability to interpret data, identify meaningful trends and translate MI into focused actions and senior-level recommendations.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and able to work effectively with learning, HR or competence-management systems.
