The Head of Product - Merchant Services & HICAPS is a senior leadership role responsible for leading NAB Vietnam's Product capability supporting the Merchant Services and HICAPS portfolio. The role has people leadership as its primary responsibility, building and developing a high-performing team of Product Owners and capability specialists while driving product excellence, customer-centric outcomes and product transformation.

This role partners closely with Engineering, Business, Risk and senior stakeholders across Vietnam and Australia to define product strategy, uplift product management capability and deliver innovative solutions that create value for customers and the business. The successful candidate will bring strong people leadership, deep product expertise, commercial acumen and the ability to influence at senior executive levels.

People Leadership

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Product Owners and product professionals.
• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and customer obsession.
• Develop future leaders through mentoring, capability uplift and succession planning.
• Foster an environment where Product, Change and Agile capabilities work together as one high-performing team.

Product Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute product vision, strategy and roadmaps aligned to customer needs and business objectives.
• Drive customer-centric product development through discovery, prioritisation and continuous improvement.
• Ensure teams focus on measurable customer and business outcomes rather than outputs.
• Champion product excellence and uplift the quality of product management practices across the team.

Engineering Partnership & Transformation

• Partner closely with Engineering Managers and technology leaders to drive product and experience transformation initiatives.
• Support teams throughout the software development lifecycle and agile delivery process.
• Remove blockers, manage dependencies and support delivery of strategic product outcomes.
• Drive alignment between product strategy and engineering execution.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

• Build trusted relationships with senior leaders across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk and Business functions.
• Communicate effectively with executive stakeholders and influence decision-making in a complex matrix environment.
• Manage product risks and ensure adherence to governance, compliance and risk management requirements.
• Monitor product success measures, customer outcomes and delivery performance.

Customer & Commercial Outcomes

• Represent the voice of the customer and use insights, data and evidence to guide product decisions.
• Balance customer needs, commercial outcomes, technology considerations, and risk requirements.
• Drive productivity benefits, value realisation and continuous improvement opportunities across the portfolio.

• Significant experience leading Product Managers, Product Owners or equivalent product teams within large and complex organisations.
• Demonstrated track record of building high-performing teams and developing product capability.
• Strong expertise in product management including product strategy, discovery, prioritisation, roadmap development and outcome delivery.
• Experience partnering with Engineering teams to deliver product, platform and experience transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and customer-centric product development.
• Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and executives.
• Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and decision-making capability.
• Banking, payments, transaction banking, merchant acquiring, or financial services experience is highly desirable.
• Experience leading teams through transformation, change, and organisational complexity.
• Tertiary qualification required; postgraduate qualifications are preferred.
