The Position

Principle Roles & Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Ÿ   Drive strategic and organizational alignment

-        Drive alignment and coordination of goals, priorities, and efforts for the Medical Affairs Department.

-        Establish and maintain a structure for co-creation and co-execution of WBO.

-        Develop and support the Medical Affairs team around future-looking vision, mission and strategic initiatives.

-        Lead cross-therapeutic areas and functions strategic programs to support Medical Affairs priorities.

Ÿ   Lead operational efforts to execute medical excellence

-        Lead in working across boundaries within the broader organization and cross-functional team to establish excellent ways of working/ process workflows.

-        Enable the implementation of strategic priorities with a closed-loop management approach.

-        Lead in developing integrated medical plan across Medical Affairs department to prioritize tasks to ensure strategic focus and timely execution of deliverables.

-        Enable the operational effectiveness of Medical Affairs to manage complexity and oversee the performance; Responsibility for development & delivery of medical dashboard and associated metrics with cross-functional teams by timely collection, reporting and aligned interpretation of performance metrics and key activities across Medical Affairs department.

-        Organize regular meetings and activities, ensuring seamless coordination across value chains.

-        Gather and prepare internal and external information for the Medical Affairs Head to facilitate key business decisions and generate important speeches/slides.

Ÿ   Drive for people excellence

-        Drive development of Medical Affairs competencies; Oversight of Medical Affairs professional development and training both in terms of technical as well as soft skills.

People development and management to building up the capacity and capability of medical excellence team by providing coaching and feedback to team members.

Qualification and Experience

Education/Qualifications

- Master’s degree and above with Medical, R&D, Marketing, Access or Corporate strategy experience in Pharmaceutical or related industry. MBA or top consulting firm background is a plus.

- Have experience in people leadership.

Leadership Competencies

- A VACC (visionary, architect, coach, catalyst) leader

- Ability to influence and manage in a matrix organization  

- Ability to build an effective team and handle difficult people issues  

- Excellent influential, communication and negotiation skills  

- Strong cross-functional collaboration capability. Self-motivated

Job Required Competencies

- Strategic agility with innovative approaches  

- Deep understanding of medical affairs value to the whole business, customer and patients 

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English

- Confident in communication with management team, ability to partner and connect with people from all levels of the medical organization. 

- Good strategic agility and analytic capability.

- Have the ability to see the big picture as well as the sensitivity to critical details.

- Track record in project management and problem-solving skills to handle complexity.

- High learning agility and open-minded and able to work under pressure.
