Traversal is the AI Site Reliability Engineer (AI SRE) for the enterprise.

Production complexity was already outpacing what engineering teams could manage manually, and AI-generated code is accelerating that gap. The Role

As a Founding GTM Recruiter at Traversal, you’ll build and own our go-to-market hiring engine from zero-to-one. You’ll run full-cycle recruiting across Sales, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Partnerships, Marketing, and Operations.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who’s scrappy, fast, and comfortable operating without a playbook. You’ll partner directly with founders and GTM leaders to define profiles, build pipeline, run tight hiring loops, and close exceptional talent in a competitive market.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle GTM recruiting and sourcing through offer and close, across multiple open roles simultaneously.

• Build and run a proactive GTM top-of-funnel: targeted outbound, fast inbound triage, and a strong referral engine.

• Lead high-energy intro calls that qualify candidates while selling the mission, team, product, and growth trajectory.

• Partner with founders and GTM leaders to define hiring profiles, calibrate the bar, and design tight, repeatable interview loops.

• Drive the close for every GTM hire: run offer calls, position Traversal against competing offers, and keep candidates engaged through acceptance.

• Contribute to GTM talent branding and long-term pipeline/network building.

Requirements

• 4+ years of full-cycle GTM recruiting experience, ideally including hiring for enterprise SaaS AE, SE/FDE, CS, RevOps, or Marketing roles

• Demonstrated ability to source and close candidates independently, without heavy reliance on inbound pipelines

• Strong stakeholder management skills; comfortable partnering with founders and GTM leaders to calibrate the bar and drive process

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong closer instinct

• High degree of ownership and comfort operating with ambiguity and limited process

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail across a high volume of concurrent searches

Nice to Have

• Recruiting experience in technical enterprise SaaS GTM orgs (infra, observability, dev tools, or similar)

• Recruiting experience at an early-stage (Series A/B) startup

• Familiarity with modern ATS and sourcing tools (e.g., Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter)

• Experience building GTM recruiting processes or playbooks from scratch

• Experience with AI-native recruiting tools (Juicebox, Metaview, etc.)

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation, startup equity, health insurance, and additional benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this full-time, in-person role in New York is $170,000–$250,000, plus equity and benefits. Our salary ranges are based on location, level, and role. Individual compensation is determined by experience, skills, and job-related knowledge.
