The Discord Creative Studio Team is seeking a versatile graphic designer and illustrator with strong conceptual skills and a knack for working across styles. This role sits alongside our Social team, creating fast-turnaround content across a wide range of creative expressions, including illustration, graphic design, and visual storytelling. You'll be embedded with the team, helping bring content to life across platforms in ways that are fun, timely, and resonate with our large and highly engaged community. This is a highly collaborative role. You'll partner closely with members of our Social team and other creatives, working within quick-turnaround windows to keep pace with what's happening in the community in real time.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and illustrate a wide range of social and community content, from platform graphics and campaign assets to reactive, in-the-moment illustrations, across a variety of styles, including characters, visual effects, objects, and environments.
• Conceptualize and execute quick-turnaround creative that captures cultural moments and community conversations, often within same-day or next-day timelines.
• Partner closely with the Social team to translate ideas, copy, and campaign concepts into visually compelling graphic design and illustration.
• Collaborate with other creatives, including illustrators, motion designers, and brand designers, to maintain a consistent and expressive visual voice across platforms.
• Manage multiple concurrent requests, prioritizing and communicating proactively as timelines shift.
• Give and receive constructive feedback in critiques and live reviews, iterating toward the strongest outcome under tight deadlines.

What you should have

• A portfolio demonstrating expressive, high-craft illustration and graphic design work across a range of styles, ideally including fast-turnaround or social and content-driven work.
• 2+ years of design or production experience at an in-house creative team, social or content studio, or agency, ideally in tech, gaming, or entertainment.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with a strong eye for composition, color, typography, and visual hierarchy.
• Comfort working at speed without sacrificing craft, with the ability to turn around polished creative within hours or a single day when needed.
• Experience working within brand guidelines to produce work that feels native to an established visual identity.
• Comfort presenting creative concepts and articulating design decisions to cross-functional partners.
• Ability to take feedback, iterate, and deliver production-ready assets that meet both creative and technical requirements.

Bonus Points

• Animation or motion design skills, and an understanding of how static illustration and design assets translate into motion.
• Proficiency in Figma.
• A strong instinct for social content, with an understanding of meme and gaming culture and how Discord can show up authentically in online conversations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $116,000 to $130,500 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
