About the role
This is a permanent opportunity, starting with a three-year customised graduate development program. You will rotate across our Pinjarra hub and bauxite mine sites in the Peel and Upper Southwest regions. Stay connected with your community, hobbies, friends & family! What you’ll be doing
As a Graduate Hydrogeologist at Alcoa, you will learn, grow, and develop hands-on experience and expertise in:
Hydrogeological aspects of both short-term and long-term mine planning.
Groundwater monitoring plans.
Drilling programs for groundwater evaluation and monitoring well installation.
Drainage control management plans.
In situ aquifer tests and groundwater models
Development and mentoring
Throughout the program, you will be provided with:
Coaching, mentoring, hands-on and professional training.
Diverse experiences; from working in our corporate offices, to a local on-site environment within our 2 mine sites, 2 powerhouses and 2 alumina refineries.

About you

Whether you're due to graduate by the end of 2026, have recently completed tertiary studies in Geological Engineering, Hydrogeology or a related discipline, or have up to two years of relevant post-graduate experience, we'd love to hear from you.
We also welcome applications from candidates who are available to commence immediately in a casual capacity while exploring longer-term career opportunities with us.

About the Location
Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery. Bauxite ore from Alcoa’s Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia’s alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s aluminium.
