Programme purpose 

Provide the financial insight, control and challenge that help AWE make informed decisions and deliver its mission responsibly. 

The programme combines meaningful responsibility with structured development, practical experience and support from experienced colleagues, helping you build career capability over two years. 

Key activities and responsibilities 

• Build experience in financial planning and analysis. 

• Develop financial and management accounting capability. 

• Work within Finance Business Partnering and other Finance service areas. 

• Support decision-making with clear analysis and insight. 

• Undertake professional training and develop in an area of interest. 

Learning and development 

• How Finance supports a complex organisation and major programmes. 

• Financial planning, analysis and management accounting. 

• Business partnering and stakeholder influence. 

• Financial control, compliance and decision support. 

• Professional accountancy practice through a funded CIMA or ACCA qualification.

Entry requirements 

• Minimum 2:2 in a Finance-related degree such as Business and Finance, Finance, Mathematics or Economics. 

• You must be able to join AWE in September 2027. 

• You must be a British National and willing and ab

• A 9-day working fortnight, giving you every other Friday off.

Recruitment process and key dates 

• Online application: Applications open on 2 November 2026. Apply for the pathway that best matches your interests and goals. 

• Online assessment: If eligible, complete numerical, verbal, logical and cognitive reasoning assessments. Practice materials will be available. 

• Virtual assessment centre: Successful candidates will be invited to a virtual assessment centre, expected to run during December 2026 and January 2027. 

• Pre-assessment support: Attend guidance webinars so you know what to expect and can prepare. 

• Offer and clearance: Successful candidates will move into the offer and security-clearance stages before joining in September 2027. 

Security requirement 

You must be a British National and willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance.
