The Government Relations team evaluates and manages political risk for the firm, our business units, and portfolio companies by monitoring policy proposals and political activity and engaging with a global network of industry experts, policymakers, and government officials. The Blackstone Government Relations department is seeking an Assistant Vice President to support analysis of regulatory, legislative, and political developments and help advise Blackstone and its portfolio companies on associated risks and opportunities.
Assistant Vice President Responsibilities:
- Monitor federal and state legislative, regulatory, and political developments relevant to Blackstone and its portfolio companies.
- Lead research and analysis on priority policy issues, translating complex developments into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Partner with investment teams throughout the investment lifecycle to identify and assess political, legislative, and regulatory risks and opportunities affecting transaction execution, portfolio value creation, and exit outcomes.
- Support deal diligence by conducting policy and regulatory assessments and delivering clear written and verbal recommendations to deal teams and investment committees.
- Translate complex policy environments into concise, insight-driven narratives for investment committees, senior leadership, and deal teams.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to portfolio companies on policy, legislative, and regulatory matters and coordinate support across Blackstone's government relations network.
- Draft executive-level briefing materials, talking points, and strategic analyses in advance of political, regulatory, and policy engagements.
- Lead cross-functional regulatory and policy initiatives on issues of strategic importance to the firm.
- Track current events, news, and emerging policy developments relevant to Blackstone and its portfolio companies and proactively flag material risks and opportunities.
- Represent Blackstone with policymakers, industry associations, trade groups, and other external stakeholders, as appropriate.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry experts, outside advisors, trade associations, and other key influencers to support the firm's investment and policy objectives.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:
- 4+ years of experience in politics, consulting, private equity, or a related field
- Professional integrity, strong work ethic, and a results-oriented mindset
- Strong understanding of private equity and the policy considerations that impact financial services
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Proactive and resourceful; skilled to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated success in relationship-building and policy advocacy
- Communicate confidently and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including distilling complex information into clear, audience-appropriate messages for policy and regulatory stakeholders

Expected annual base salary range:
$125,000 - $175,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
