Global Operations Expert – Tap Changers

Business Unit Transformers, GPG Insulation and Components

At Hitachi Energy, our Tap Changer business is a global leader in providing critical technology that helps maintain stable voltage levels and reliable operation of power networks around the world. As a Global Operations Expert – Tap Changers, you will have the opportunity to influence manufacturing excellence across multiple international production facilities, driving continuous improvement, digitalization, and best practices. This is a unique global role where your expertise will directly contribute to improving product quality, operational performance, and the resilience of the energy infrastructure that powers modern society.

As this position can be fulfilled fully remotely, we are prioritizing skills, expertise, and experience.

Your Responsibilities

• Serve as the global subject matter expert for Tap Changer manufacturing processes, methods, equipment, and operational best practices across our production sites.
• Develop, maintain, and standardize production standards, quality documentation, training materials, certification programs, and equipment requirements to ensure manufacturing excellence.
• Lead and support Transfer of Technology (ToT) initiatives, including factory start-ups, production layouts, and the implementation of state-of-the-art manufacturing solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement by optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing productivity and asset utilization, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance with quality and customer requirements.
• Support and promote digitalization, automation, and standardization initiatives across global Tap Changer manufacturing operations.
• Facilitate global collaboration by leading knowledge-sharing forums and working closely with factory management, engineering, and operations teams to drive sustainable performance improvements.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or another relevant technical field.
• Minimum five years of operational experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience working with Tap Changers and related manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to drive change and influence stakeholders in a global environment.
• Experience working across international organizations and multicultural teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

• Willingness to travel globally to support factories, technology transfers, and production start-ups.
