   • Provide subject matter expertise during development or revision of the USSOUTHCOM Campaign Plan and Campaign Order.

   • Support the development, execution, and management of operational assessments, as required by the command.

   • Review Department of War guidance and produce recommended talking points and/or inputs for briefings, presentations, reports, technical analyses, and prepared statements.

   • Accompany the USSOUTHCOM J3 or designated representatives to bilateral, multilateral, and U.S. Government engagements as required.

Qualifications:

Required:

   • Proven experience with military planning processes, including the Joint Planning Process, the Military Decision-Making Process, and/or campaign planning.

   • Knowledge of threats posed by External State Actors and Designated Terrorist Organizations.

   • Strong oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience briefing senior (GO/FO/SES) decision makers.

   • Ability and willingness to travel periodically within CONUS and for short‑duration OCONUS assignments.

   • Ability to work independently with limited government oversight and as part of a joint, cross-functional team.

Desired:

   • Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Military Science, or a related field.

   • More than three years of experience supporting or working with Special Operations Forces.

   • Experience developing briefings and documentation for senior leader or flag officer engagements with the Joint Staff and/or the Office of the Secretary of War.
