Global Commerce & Retail Media Specialist (f/m/d)
About the Role
As Global Commerce & Retail Media Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping Essity’s global commerce and retail media strategy across Amazon and retailer media networks. Acting as an in-house expert, you will drive excellence in campaign execution, define global standards, and ensure our media investments translate into measurable sales impact.
This role sits within Global Media & Performance and works closely with cross-functional teams, including e-commerce, customer marketing, and external partners. You will contribute directly to optimizing Essity’s presence across digital commerce channels and unlocking growth opportunities in an increasingly important area of media investment.
You will report to the Global Performance & Commerce Manager.
What You Will Do
Global Commerce / Retail Media Strategy
- Support the Global Performance & Commerce Manager in defining and evolving Essity’s global commerce/retail media strategy, ensuring alignment with overall media, brand, and e-commerce objectives.
- Develop channel-specific commerce/retail media guidelines, standards, and best practices across Amazon and retailer media networks, staying ahead of platform developments and innovations.
- Define global standards for retail media activation: sponsored products, sponsored brands, display, video, and other non-conditional retail media formats.
Amazon Advertising Excellence
- Define global Amazon Advertising standards including campaign structure, targeting, DSP strategy, and full-funnel approaches.
- Establish KPI frameworks, benchmarks, and optimization opportunities while managing the relationship with Amazon Advertising partners.
Retailer Media Network Management
- Define activation frameworks and standards for key retail media partners, ensuring alignment across global, regional, and local teams.
- Manage relationships with retail media vendors and enable market teams through clear guidelines and capability building.
Performance Measurement & Reporting
- Own KPI frameworks including ROAS, ACOS, share of shelf, SOV, attributed sales, and halo effect measurement.
- Build benchmarks and deliver performance insights and reports to senior stakeholders, including integration into key reporting systems.
Agency & Platform Management
- Manage global agency relationships, ensuring execution aligns with defined standards and delivers strong performance outcomes.
- Evaluate and onboard new commerce media platforms and tools, driving continuous improvement in activation and business impact.
- Drive commercial conversion on Amazon and retailer platforms, contributing directly to Essity's e-commerce revenue and market share growth.
Who You Are
- Strong experience in commerce/retail media , i.e. Amazon Advertising, retail media networks, or e-commerce performance marketing.
- Deep expertise in Amazon Ads (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, DSP), and familiarity with major retailer media platforms.
- Strong understanding of FMCG e-commerce dynamics: search optimization, content, ratings & reviews, and digital shelf management.
- Experience measuring commerce/retail media impact beyond last-click: halo effect, organic ranking correlation, and attributed sales.
- Analytically strong; comfortable with commerce data, platform analytics, and business case development.
- Fluent English required.
Location
This role is based in one of Essity’s key European hubs: Munich or Mannheim (Germany), Gothenburg (Sweden), Paris (France) or Manchester (United Kingdom).
