Vice President – Alternative Capital Solutions

When clients seek to raise capital in the private markets to support their next phase of growth, Alternative Capital Solutions provides innovative structuring, market insight, and execution expertise. Sitting within Global Capital Markets, the team focuses on privately placed equity and equity-linked capital raises, including growth capital, structured equity transactions, and PIPE financings, working closely with industry bankers, equity sales & trading, private wealth management, and other product partners to deliver integrated solutions for the world's leading private and public companies.

Alternative Capital Solutions advises clients on complex capital structure and financing ambitions, combining market judgment and transaction execution to meet strategic objectives across market cycles.

Our New York City office is looking for a Vice President to join the Alternative Capital Solutions team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the origination, structuring, and execution of private equity and equity-linked transactions, including growth capital raises, structured equity offerings, PIPE financings, and other bespoke capital solutions.

• Serve as a key day-to-day advisor to corporate clients, providing strategic guidance on financing alternatives, capital structure optimization, investor positioning, and market opportunities.

• Drive transaction processes from initial client engagement through execution, coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

• Develop and deliver innovative financing solutions tailored to client objectives, working closely with industry coverage teams, equity sales & trading, private wealth management, legal, and risk partners.

• Evaluate market dynamics, investor demand, and transaction precedents to inform senior client discussions and business development initiatives.

• Take ownership of financial analyses, valuation assessments, transaction structuring, and investment materials used in client presentations and internal approval processes.

• Contribute to business origination efforts by identifying new opportunities, strengthening existing client relationships, and supporting senior management in developing the franchise.

• Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance on analytical work, transaction execution, and professional development.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Global Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Private Capital Markets, Structured Equity, or a related financial services role.

• Demonstrated experience leading the execution of equity, equity-linked, or private capital transactions and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.

• Strong understanding of capital markets, equity products, private financing structures, and corporate finance principles.

• Proven ability to independently manage transactions and client relationships while exercising sound commercial judgment.

• Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills, with a high degree of attention to detail.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting complex concepts to senior stakeholders and clients.

• Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring junior professionals and collaborating across teams.

• Entrepreneurial mindset, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Series licensing required or ability to obtain.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be $275,000 per year for Vice President, at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
