Job Description
- Prepares and produces maps and other graphic representations displaying layers and attribute data from database, using cartographic techniques to represent spatial data
- Maintains data layers, using GIS tools, GPS units, CAD tools and relational databases
- Incorporates maps, charts, spreadsheet data and text into reports
- Performs field work to collect and/or validate GIS data using a GPS unit
- Resolves and troubleshoots GIS-related problems
- Provides basic GIS software training for internal users
- Develops production schedules for smaller mapping and analysis projects
- Communicates with internal and external customers to align project deliverables with business objectives
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- 5+ years of work related experience
- Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS suite of software
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office software
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and potential clients
