As a Functional Tester (QA)-Senior Associate you will focus on validating software functionality, identifying defects, and supporting control testing activities within our Risk and Compliance practice. As a Senior Associate you will analyze complex issues, manage assigned workstreams, build client connections, and mentor junior team members while using critical thinking to break down testing results and interpret feedback into practical recommendations. In this role at PwC, you will contribute to regulatory risk compliance services, use testing tools and methods to assess application behavior, and help confirm that deliverables align with project objectives and professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Testing functional requirements and validating business processes across client service engagements
- Developing test scenarios, test scripts, and test data to support system and process testing
- Executing manual and automated testing activities and documenting defects with clear reproduction steps
- Analyzing application behavior, identifying root causes, and interpreting results to inform remediation
- Coordinating testing milestones, dependencies, and status updates across assigned workstreams
- Reviewing deliverables from junior team members and providing guidance on testing methods and documentation
- Collaborating with client stakeholders to clarify requirements, address issues, and support release readiness
- Applying regulatory risk and controls knowledge to confirm systems align with compliance requirements
- Ability to actively participate in reviews of User Stories (functional and technical) in order to identify and help bridge gaps in requirements - particularly around use-cases and workflows (including considerations such as happy path, alternate paths, user-error, system-error workflows, etc.).
- Working closely with the Business and QA leads to obtain a thorough understanding of the application and the business being supported by the application
- Working closely with Interactions Hub Developers / Solution Architect / Technical Lead to understand the technical approach, technical specifications, and non-functional requirements that are integral to the software application
What You Must Have
- At least a Bachelor's degree
- At least 4- 8 years of experience
- Oral and written proficiency in English required
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in functional quality assurance and software testing, including ownership of test planning, execution, defect management, and stakeholder communication. Ability to organize and lead test-set peer reviews, test plan reviews, and test execution, while providing guidance and coaching to junior QA team members.
- Certification(s) Preferred: ISTQB
- Added advantage- Hands-on experience with test automation, performance testing, and API testing, including the use of appropriate tools, frameworks, and scripting approaches.

- Ability to collaborate with the Interactions Hub Business and Development teams to ensure accuracy in level of effort estimation of user stories (e.g., via creation of standardized and/or specific QA tasks to justify QA level of effort estimations).
- Experience testing workflow applications built on the Appian platform is preferred but not required.
