Position Summary
The Manager, FP&A will serve as the primary finance partner for the company's national service and national parts businesses. This role will lead forecasting, performance reporting, and decision support across a network of operating companies, working closely with business leaders to improve visibility into revenue, gross margin, labor productivity, inventory, and profitability.
The successful candidate will combine strong financial judgment with an operator's mindset, connecting local activity to enterprise results and translating data into clear actions.
Key Responsibilities
- P&L Forecasting & Planning: Lead the consolidated forecast and annual planning processes for national service and national parts, including revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, headcount, and EBITDA.
- Business Partnership: Partner with national functional leaders and operating-company leadership to understand performance drivers, pressure-test assumptions, and identify risks and opportunities.
- Performance Management: Deliver monthly actual-versus-plan and forecast reviews, clearly explaining results and recommended actions to improve financial and operational performance.
- Service Analytics: Develop insight into technician utilization, billable hours, labor productivity, pricing, service mix, contract performance, and branch-level profitability.
- Parts Analytics: Analyze sales, gross margin, product and customer mix, pricing, inventory turns, purchasing trends, rebates, and working-capital performance.
- Driver-Based Models: Build scalable models that connect operational drivers—volume, price, labor, utilization, product mix, backlog, and inventory—to financial outcomes.
- Standardized Reporting: Establish consistent KPIs, definitions, and scorecards across operating companies while highlighting performance outliers and transferable best practices.
- Decision Support & Improvement: Evaluate growth, pricing, and investment opportunities while streamlining recurring reporting and improving data quality and automation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, operational finance, or business finance; multi-location or decentralized-company experience preferred.
- Strong command of P&L forecasting, variance analysis, financial modeling, and business performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with leaders across multiple business units without direct authority.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with planning, ERP, and business-intelligence tools; Power BI experience preferred.
- Ability to synthesize complex financial and operating data into concise insights and practical recommendations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
