Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space Missions Systems seeks a Flight Dynamics Engineer (Senior) in Seal Beach, California, with potential options to work from  El Segundo, California; Aurora or Colorado Springs, Colorado; Herndon or Leesburg, Virginia; or Kennedy Space Center, Florida, based on program needs. You will join a diverse team and apply your skills to support architecture, requirements, and design, creating innovative solutions to technical challenges.

 

Our multi-disciplinary team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of next-generation, mission-focused technologies, products, and services for a variety of customers.  We work all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, architecture, requirements, and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration. 

 

Position Responsibilities:

• Contribute to an impactful team immersed in innovative development projects
• Lead development of vital architecture requirements and design
• Ensure modern, best practices across programs and product lines for development and integration activities.
• Anticipate, communicate, and recommend actions and risk mitigations to technical teams and program leadership.
• Contribute to strategy, product roadmaps, and technology plans for end-to-end mission integration, space operations, and ground architecture.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work on site at the listed locations.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• Level 4: Typically, 9 or more years' related work experience
• Background in astrodynamics and/or guidance, navigation, and control

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Level 5: Typically, 14 or more years' related work experience
• 5+ years experience with orbital analysis software or tools 
• Experience in Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and advanced system engineering toolsets
• Experience in space systems and working with multi-disciplinary teams
• Experience with software requirements verification testing
• Experience with scripting languages (i.e. Python, Tcl/Tk)
• Experience with Configuration Management tools and processes
• Experience with Scaled Agile Framework processes and tools
• Excellent written and spoken communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Problem solving and troubleshooting in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong communication skills and desire to integrate within a team that works under the principles of respect, trust, open-mindedness and fun.
• Passion for innovation and creative exploration of new technologies.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

 

Level 4 Summary pay range: $ 136,850 – $ 197,800

Level 5 Summary pay range: $ 164,900 – $ 239,200
