Fitness Floor Assistant
The University of Miami/UHealth department of The Miami Project has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Fitness Floor Assistant to work in Miami, FL. The Fitness Floor Assistant conducts assessments, develops, and implements training regimens, provides
motivated fitness coaching, facilitates science-based workforce interventions, and monitors fitness areas to assist members in wellness programs, exercises and training.
- Reviews health history questionnaires to assess risk factors that may require medical clearance.
- Compiles and manages member intervention and fitness data using relevant programs.
- Assists with structured exercise programs for members, such as personal training.
- Assists with fitness and intervention educational sessions to members.
- Answers members’ questions and instructs them on how to operate equipment.
- Ensures members are following policies and procedures in the fitness areas.
- Supervises fitness area and classrooms and inspects cardio, training, and functional equipment for damage, wear, loss, and improper usage.
- Maintains a clean fitness area at all times and ensures equipment is ready for member use.
- Assists wellness programs and membership staff in facilitation of orientations, educational programs, and marketing campaigns.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment. - Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
- Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
