Summary:
The Financial Operations Manager supports the Chief Financial Officer in managing the accounting, financial and treasury operations of the company’s commercial real estate, property management and corporate activities. This position is additionally responsible for identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and technology implementation.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Identify financial and operational issues, develop recommendations, and drive key initiatives and deliverables through completion.
- Monitor and anticipate funding requirements across corporate and operating entities and support banking relationships, account administration, and treasury activities.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
- Develop dashboards and executive reporting to provide meaningful financial and operational insights and support decision-making.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline finance and accounting processes, reporting, and workflows.
- Lead or support financial system implementations, integrations, data initiatives, and reporting enhancements.
- Partner with Accounting and other departments to strengthen data integrity, financial controls, and overall process efficiency.
- Assist with financial due diligence, integration activities, and analysis of significant contracts, vendors, and expenditures.
- Coordinate financial information and deliverables for audits, tax matters, insurance renewals, lenders, and other corporate requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance or accounting experience within commercial real estate.
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate accounting, property operations, and financial reporting.
- Experience with property management and accounting systems (MRI Software strongly preferred).
- ERP implementation experience preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Power BI or similar.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across departments and with executive leadership.
- Big 4 experience is a plus.
