What You'll Responsible For:
Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations, Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee the day-to-day financial accounting activities of the company, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, collections, payments and reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper flow of financial information between finance, operations and other functions.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reporting, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
- Monitor financial transactions and resolve discrepancies and exceptions in a timely manner.
- Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for new services, transactions, contracts and commercial arrangements.
- Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements and ensure appropriate financial planning.
Finance process & systems development
- Establish and continuously improve end-to-end finance processes and workflows for the service business.
- Work with the wider Wilhelmsen Accounting & Finance team and relevant support functions to define finance requirements for ERP and other business systems.
- Establish appropriate processes for high-volume and recurring transactions, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, automation and scalability.
- Ensure finance processes are appropriately integrated with operational systems and data flows.
- Develop and maintain finance procedures, process documentation and working instructions.
- Identify opportunities to standardise, simplify and automate finance activities as the business grows.
Finance control, compliance & governance
- Implement and maintain effective internal financial controls in accordance with WSM policies.
- Ensure appropriate segregation of duties, approval authorities, reconciliations and audit trails.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, IFRS, tax and statutory requirements.
- Support statutory audits and provide accurate and timely information to external auditors.
- Own intercompany recharges, transfer pricing and tax compliance (VAT, withholding tax), in coordination with Group Tax.
- Coordinate with Group Finance and relevant support functions on tax, audit, treasury and other financial matters.
- Monitor financial risks and escalate material issues to the Business Head.
- Ensure financial policies and delegated authorities are consistently applied within the service company.
Budgeting, forecasting & financial analysis
- Partner with the GM to prepare annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, identifying material variances and underlying drivers.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business and operational decisions.
- Monitor revenue, cost, margin, cash flow and profitability performance by service line where applicable.
- Support the development of financial models and business cases for new services, products, markets and investments.
- Provide analysis of pricing, cost structures and unit economics to support commercial decision-making.
Treasury & cash management
- Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital and funding arrangements with Wilhelmsen Group.
- Define and apply an FX policy for multi-currency exposure, in line with Group Treasury.
Qualifications
Experience & Skills Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualifications are an advantage.
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or equivalent role.
- Experience in a high-volume transaction, services, technology, maritime or other operationally complex environment is advantageous.
- Strong experience in financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial controls.
- Experience establishing or improving finance processes and implementing financial systems/ERP.
- Experience managing reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash flow in a transaction-intensive environment.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, statutory reporting, tax and internal control requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial information into business insights.
- Proficiency in ERP, financial reporting and business intelligence tools.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a start-up, transformation or changing business environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build processes, embrace change and continuously improve ways of working.
