Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide Finance leadership to our South Asia & South East Asia [“S&SEA”] Sub-Region covering ASEAN, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The role will include reviewing all aspects of both business support and controllership covering [but not limited to] budgets, forecasts, pricing, monthly actual reporting, indirect/direct tax submission and audit and all aspects of financial business partnering to the Subregion Leadership. Additionally, the position will be responsible for all US, APAC and local reporting, both Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet. Critically this will be accomplished through both direct staff and various centralized services which are “owned” by other finance leaders globally.  

As S&SEA Finance Director, you will be the finance business partner for the S&SEA leadership team which covers all aspects of commercial and operational management for the region. This position will report directly to Asia Finance Director and will collaborate with key stakeholders in the S&SEA organization, as well as corporate Finance functions such Controllership, Internal Controls, Tax and Treasury. Of considerable importance is the relationship/support of the S&SEA Subregion leader, providing financial strategic guidance but also helping to drive critical initiatives to hit $$ targets. As a key member of the S&SEA leadership team, advising/driving agreed business strategies and change into S&SEA organization will be a significant part of the role as we move to implement an exciting pipeline of new products and a new approach to market dynamics.

Location: Jakarta/ Mumbai/ Singapore

The Role:

• Lead both ASEAN and Pakistan Finance teams
• Foster a strong business partner relationship with S&SEA Sub-region Leader and with S&SEA Asia Leadership Team members including Commercial Directors with Regional & Global Finance teams, external government bodies
• Lead the team to develop S&SEA Budget
• Supervise the team to provide monthly/quarterly forecasting reports for S&SEA ensuring clear paths to achieve stated $$ targets
• Monitor and report financial performance, understand and explain root causes cause of variances -vs- budget, forecast, and prior year. Work proactively to institutionalize improvements and remedy unfavorable performance
• Provide insight into strategic decisions to drive cost efficiencies and optimize resource allocation
• Supervise the monthly close process
• Lead the statutory preparation of accounts and indirect/direct tax incl. any requests for funding from Global Tax/Treasury
• Strong working capital management
• Support SOX, internal audit, and Tax audit as needed

The Candidate (requirements):

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/business

• MBA or Chartered Accountant/CICPA

• Minimum of 15 years diversified experience in various levels of finance management covering both controllership and FP&A

• People leader experience required

• Strong financial acumen and analytics skills. Being able provide in-depth explanation of results, synthesize data to identify key business drivers and assess the quality of inputs, generate insightful outputs

• Experience with all aspects of financial reporting cycle including development of annual business plan / budget, financial projections / recurring forecasts and operations cost management required

• Standard costing experience (preferred)

• ERP System experience required
