À propos de ce poste Finance Analyst - Strategic Finance chez Groupon
Groupon connects 42 million customers with local experiences - restaurants, events, wellness and travel - and the million-plus merchants who deliver them. Our mission is to get people offline and into the real world at prices that make it possible. We're an AI-native company in the middle of a platform transformation, moving from a deals marketplace to an experience discovery platform that works for customers and merchants at the same time.
At Groupon, we believe that the best things in life happen offline. Our mission is to get people offline through quality local experiences at great value. By enabling real-time mobile commerce across local businesses, live events and travel destinations, Groupon helps people find and discover experiences(big and small, new and familiar) that make for a full, fun and rewarding life. Groupon helps local businesses grow and strengthen customer relationships, resulting in strong, vibrant communities. With employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. Our culture encourages employees to embrace change, adapt to new circumstances, and find creative solutions to the challenges we face. Does that sound like a great way to grow your career?
The Strategic Finance team develops and executes Groupon's financial strategy, gives the management team the insight it needs to decide, and makes sure our financial reporting is accurate and on time. We act as internal consultants to VP-level leaders across the company, so each of us knows one business unit inside out. Our two areas of focus are controllership and business support.
Everything we do serves one mission: getting people offline through quality local experiences at great value. Our job in Finance is to make sure the company's money and its people go where that mission is best served.
We are rebuilding Finance to be AI-native
Groupon is redesigning itself as an AI-native company, and Finance is one of the functions leading that change. We are not adding AI tools to the old way of working. We are rebuilding the function so that agents do the repetitive work and people spend their time on judgment, on decisions, and on conversations with the business.
This is already under way:
- Our Finance Business Partners build and run their own agents with AI coding tools such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex. Month-end accruals, cloud cost reporting, variance commentary, and engineering time-tracking reconciliations are produced by agents today, with a person reviewing and deciding.
- Our reporting and forecasting data lives in an AI-native FP&A platform that this team designed and built in-house. Agents read from it and write to it, the way analysts once worked in a planning tool.
- Every part of the rebuild runs as a Team Bet: a named owner, a two-week spring cadence, measurable results, and a review with the CFO. We measure the share of our deliverables that run end to end without a human touch, and we publish the number.
- Skills and agents are shared in a common library so that what one person automates, everyone can use.
We are looking for someone who wants to be a builder as much as an analyst. You will inherit workflows, automate them, and hand the routine work to agents. The judgment, the story behind the numbers, and the relationship with the business stay with you. The point of all of it is time: every hour Finance takes back from repetitive work is an hour spent helping Groupon get more people offline.
What you will do
Every area below has two halves: get the work produced by agents, and own what the numbers mean.
- Monthly SG&A Variance reporting: Own month-end SG&A reporting for departments. Run and improve the agents that prepare accruals, pull actuals, and draft variance commentary. Review the output, decide what matters, and bring the story to the leaders who own the cost, including the driver, the direction, and whether it will repeat.
- Forecasting and planning: Support the quarterly forecast and the annual operating plan. Validate inputs and assumptions with business owners, partner with the HR Business Partners on headcount and personnel cost, and challenge the assumptions the agents produce before they go into the plan.
- Strategic planning: Support the semi-annual strategic planning process so that Groupon's most valuable resources go to its most important projects.
- OKRs, Key Metrics, and financial models: Develop and maintain the OKRs and models that department leaders use to run their teams. Coordinate timelines, inputs, and reviews so the numbers land when decisions are made.
- Build and automate: Document the workflows you inherit, turn them into agent skills, share them through the team library, and measure how much of your work runs without you. Ship a first version early and improve it in iterations.
- Ad hoc analysis: Answer the questions that do not fit a template, from software renewals to capitalization of engineering time.
We’re excited about you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Controlling, or a similar analytical role
- Hands-on use of AI in your actual work, beyond chat. You have used an AI coding agent, built a prompt or workflow you reuse, or automated a recurring task. We will ask you to show us.
- Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the habit of checking that numbers reconcile before they go out
- Advanced Excel and comfort with large data sets. SQL or Python is a plus.
- Expert level written and verbal English communication
- Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
