Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations.

The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite. (traveling role field service: 50% on surface, 50% underground)

This role is contributing to the Automation Process Industries, Mining and Materials in Sudbury, Ontario.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Execute field service work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements, quality standards, and agreed timelines.
• Provide an outstanding customer experience through clear communication, responsiveness, and a strong sense of urgency.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience by communicating clearly, demonstrating urgency, and ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer operations, eliminate pain points, and communicate service growth opportunities to ABB account teams.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues through remote and on-site support for certified products and service offerings.
• Plan and prepare service activities by securing the required materials, parts, tools, and equipment to achieve a first-time-right outcome.
• Drive continuous improvement by recommending corrective and preventive actions, improving work processes, and preparing accurate service documentation and customer reports.
• Promote ABB's safety culture while collaborating with customers and colleagues, reporting hazards, mentoring junior technicians and engineers, providing technical guidance, and delivering training when required.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Hands-on experience servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing medium-voltage (MV) equipment and other industrial systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of industrial automation, software applications, and control systems; experience with ABB MV/LV Drives, PLCs, and DCS systems is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and ability to support complex industrial equipment in field environments.
• Excellent English communication skills, with a valid driver’s license and passport, and willingness to travel extensively to customer sites (60-70%). French is a strong asset.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $67,500 and $99,000 annually and is bonus eligible.
