At ASM, you'll join a team that enables the next generation of semiconductor chips. As an Early Career Field Service Engineer, you will receive hands-on training, mentorship from experienced engineers, and the opportunity to work directly with cutting-edge ALD and Epitaxy equipment at some of the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers.
This is not a desk job. You'll be in the field, solving real engineering challenges, supporting customers, and developing technical expertise that will set the foundation for a long-term career in the semiconductor industry
What does this role look like?Learn and Grow
- Participate in a structured training and development program.
- Learn how to install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ASM semiconductor equipment.
- Work alongside experienced Field Service Engineers and technical experts.
- Develop expertise in vacuum systems, electronics, robotics, software, and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
Support Leading Semiconductor Manufacturers
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and qualifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting activities.
- Support customers in resolving technical issues and minimizing equipment downtime.
- Help ensure ASM equipment operates at peak performance.
Build Technical Expertise
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues.
- Participate in root cause investigations and problem-solving activities.
- Document service activities and technical findings.
- Collaborate with engineering and global support teams to solve complex challenges.
Work as Part of a Global Team
- Partner with customers, engineers, and colleagues from around the world.
- Share knowledge and learn from industry experts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Physics
- Materials Science
- Mechatronics
- Electronics
- Or a related technical discipline
Skills & Attributes
- Curious and eager to learn new technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Hands-on mindset with an interest in troubleshooting equipment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Travel & Flexibility
- Willingness to travel extensively during the first year for training (up to 70% to Asia, US or Europe)
- Ability to work in cleanroom environments.
- Flexibility to support customer schedules when required.
