The American Connection Corps (ACC), an AmeriCorps program of Lead For America (LFA), is a service fellowship program aimed at helping communities build the digital connectivity necessary to expand opportunity and economic mobility, ranging from healthcare access to quality employment.

ACC Members serve with locally-rooted organizations, helping address the digital divide and strengthen access to opportunity. Through their service, they gain hands-on experience, build in-demand skills, and explore career pathways while making a tangible impact in their communities.

About Linden Bridges Ministries

Linden Bridges Ministries mission is to work collaboratively with families and youth to build stable communities by providing family-centered support, practical resources, and education that help parents and children overcome barriers, and achieve lasting stability.

Position Overview

The Member will be responsible for supporting the organization’s programs and program-related operations by providing professional, dependable, and compassionate services to children, youth, families, and community members. Duties may include assisting with afterschool and summer programs, tutoring, mentoring, family activities, community outreach, workforce development, educational programs, and connecting families with community resources. The Member is expected to maintain accurate records, follow organizational policies and safety procedures, protect participant confidentiality, maintain a clean and welcoming environment, attend required meetings and training, communicate respectfully with staff and participants, and assist with other approved service activities as needed to support Linden Bridges Ministries programs and services and fulfill its mission of bridging families and building hope.

Key Responsibilities

The ACC Member will:

• Assist with the program-related daily operation of Linden Bridges Ministries and the Linden Bridges Family Resource Center.
• Provide support to afterschool and summer programs, including tutoring, mentoring, enrichment activities, and youth development.
• Assist at least 20–30 children and youth each month with academic, enrichment, or recreational activities.
• Provide homework help and tutoring support to students as assigned, with a goal of supporting at least 10 students per week.
• Assist with family resource activities, workshops, and community events, helping serve at least 25 families per month.
• Participate in community outreach activities and help connect families with available educational, workforce, food, and social-service resources.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with schools, parents, community organizations, volunteers, and other stakeholders in support of approved program activities.
• Assist with food pantry, resource distribution, donation drives, and other community service activities as assigned and consistent with AmeriCorps requirements.
• Participate in community outreach and engagement activities, as assigned, to support awareness of and access to Linden Bridges Ministries programs and community resources.
• Assist with organizing and preparing educational materials, program activities, sign-in sheets, surveys, and other program documents.
• Maintain accurate attendance, activity, service-hour, and participant records as required.
• Attend required staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
• Follow all Linden Bridges Ministries policies, safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and applicable AmeriCorps State and National program guidelines.
• Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, punctuality, teamwork, and respect when working with participants and community partners.
• Complete assigned service activities and documentation on time throughout the service term.
• Support the overall mission of Linden Bridges Ministries by helping bridge families, build hope, and strengthen the community.

The Member's service activities will supplement, and will not duplicate or displace, the duties of existing employees or other workers. The Member will perform service activities under the supervision of designated Linden Bridges Ministries staff and within the scope of the approved AmeriCorps State and National service position.

AmeriCorps service activities will be nonpartisan and will not include lobbying, partisan political activity, election-related activity, or other activities prohibited by AmeriCorps. If Linden Bridges Ministries conducts religious activities, the Member will not be required or permitted, as part of AmeriCorps service, to provide religious instruction, conduct worship services, engage in religious proselytization, or perform other religious activities prohibited by AmeriCorps.

Learning & Development Opportunities

As an ACC Member, you will receive structured training and support throughout your service year, including: 

• A week-long virtual orientation with the national cohort to kick off the service year.
• A week-long, in-person national Winter Institute convening with your ACC cohort — travel, lodging, and a per diem stipend are fully covered.
• Twice-monthly virtual training on skills for service, including project management, asset-based community development, grant writing, and serving vulnerable populations, plus self-paced curricula with opportunities to earn badges and credentials.
• A structured community listening tour at the start of service to understand local needs, assets, and opportunities.
• Dedicated 1:1 support from a Lead For America Program Coordinator and twice-monthly peer pod meetings for networking and professional development.
• Access to a national network of ACC Members, alumni, and community partners.

Requirements

• Passion for community service and connecting your neighbors to the digital tools, skills, and opportunities they need to thrive.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Interest in gaining experience in community development or digital inclusion.

Eligibility:

• Be a U.S. Citizen, National, or Lawful Permanent Resident.
• Hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Be 17 years of age or older by the start of service.
• Have not already served four (4) or more AmeriCorps State/National terms. 

Timeline:

We are currently recruiting Members to serve from December 7th, 2026 - August 13th, 2027. Members will serve full-time (approximately 40 hours per week), completing 1200 hours of service over the course of the term.

• A $23,300 living stipend (dispersed bi-weekly over the course of the service term)
