About the Role
The Facilities Manager oversees the operations, maintenance, and overall facility management across multiple locations within a designated geographic region. This role ensures that all sites operate efficiently, meet regulatory standards, and maintain a safe and functional environment. The Regional Facility Manager is responsible for managing local facility teams, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and implementing company-wide facility initiatives at the regional level.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility Operations Management:
- Oversee daily operations and maintenance of all facilities within the assigned region.
- Develop and enforce maintenance schedules and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure all properties are compliant with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and support local facility managers, technicians, and custodial staff.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Coordinate staffing plans and hiring needs.
- Budget & Vendor Management:
- Manage regional facility budgets, including capital and operational expenditures.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, service providers, and contractors.
- Approve invoices and monitor expenditures to stay within budget.
- Project Management:
- Lead renovation, construction, or upgrade projects across the region.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project teams.
- Track progress and ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Strategic Planning:
- Participate in long-term planning for facility improvements and growth.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
- Develop contingency plans for emergency facility needs.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on regional facility status, projects, and issues.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for audits and inspections.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in facilities management, with at least 2–3 years in a multi-site or regional leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security).
- Proven experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with OSHA, ADA, and local safety regulations.
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent travel between sites (up to 25% depending on region size).
- Ability to respond to emergencies outside of regular work hours.
- Must be able to walk, lift, and inspect facility spaces regularly.
