VRS is supporting the ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Complex through the Operations Clean Sweep Program, a critical service initiative focused on maintaining safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible refinery and chemical plant operations. The program provides essential operational support services that help ensure work areas remain organized, compliant, and ready to support continuous production activities across the site.
As part of this program, VRS is seeking experienced industrial professionals to join the Baton Rouge team. This opportunity is designed to transition and retain skilled PSC Group personnel currently supporting ExxonMobil operations while continuing to provide best-in-class service to the facility.
- Maintain refinery and plant housekeeping standards across assigned operating units.
- Perform routine cleaning of process areas, walkways, stairways, platforms, and equipment locations.
- Collect, segregate, and dispose of industrial waste in accordance with environmental and site procedures.
- Assist with spill containment and cleanup activities while following all safety and environmental protocols.
- Operate industrial cleaning equipment, including pressure washers, vacuum trucks, and other specialized tools as required.
- Remove debris, excess materials, and trip hazards from operational areas.
- Support outage, turnaround, and maintenance activities through housekeeping and material handling services.
- Load, unload, move, and stage materials utilizing approved equipment and methods.
- Conduct inspections to identify housekeeping, safety, and environmental concerns.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site training programs.
- Follow all refinery safety procedures, including PPE requirements, permit systems, confined space requirements, and lockout/tagout protocols.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses immediately.
- Support emergency response activities as directed by site leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of industrial, refinery, petrochemical, manufacturing, or construction experience preferred.
- Ability to work safely in an operating refinery environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and shift schedules as needed.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous refinery, petrochemical, or chemical plant experience.
- Experience operating industrial cleaning equipment.
- TWIC Card.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Basic Plus Safety Council certification.
- Experience supporting plant turnarounds and shutdowns.
- Forklift or material handling equipment experience.
