COOK III – RESTAURANT
Chaminade Resort & Spa | Santa Cruz, CA
Position Overview
Chaminade Resort & Spa is seeking an experienced Cook III to join our Restaurant culinary team. We are looking for a skilled, dependable line cook with strong grill and sauté experience who thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant environment.
This is an opportunity for an experienced culinary professional to join a talented team and contribute to exceptional food and guest experiences at one of Santa Cruz's premier resort destinations.
Experienced line cooks only. Grill and sauté experience required.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Work efficiently and confidently on the grill and sauté stations.
- Set up, stock, and maintain an organized and properly prepared workstation.
- Execute food orders accurately and efficiently during busy service periods.
- Maintain consistent portioning, quality, temperature, and presentation.
- Assist with prep work and other kitchen duties as needed.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with cooks, chefs, servers, and other team members.
- Monitor food quality and freshness throughout service.
- Support the culinary team in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
What We're Looking For
- Previous professional line-cook experience required.
- Strong grill and sauté experience required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation.
- Ability to follow recipes and plating standards consistently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a positive attitude during busy services.
- Culinary education or equivalent professional experience preferred.
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time opportunity available; Full time status and priority hours are negotiable for the right candidate.
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
- $500 Sign-On Bonus
- $250 paid after 30 days of employment in good standing.
- $250 paid after 90 days of employment in good standing.
- Additional benefits available for eligible full-time employees.
