Role Purpose 

The Executive Reward Analyst provides analytical, governance and operational support for bp's executive reward programs. This role contributes to the development, implementation and administration of reward arrangements for executive directors and senior executives, helping ensure reward outcomes are aligned to business performance, shareholder expectations, regulatory requirements and bp's strategic priorities. Working closely with the Board Governance Specialist and the VP Executive Reward, the role combines technical reward expertise, strong analytical skills and sound judgement to support reward decision-making, governance activities and Board People & Remuneration Committee processes. 

 

What You Will Be Doing 

• Support the delivery and governance of bp's executive reward programs, ensuring alignment with business performance, shareholder expectations and regulatory requirements. 

• Prepare insight-driven analysis, presentations and briefing materials for senior leaders and the Board People & Remuneration Committee. 

• Conduct executive pay benchmarking and market analysis, identifying reward trends and competitive positioning. 

• Build financial models, scenario analyses and reward cost projections to support reward decisions. 

• Analyse incentive plan design and outcomes, providing clear recommendations and actionable insights. 

• Support executive remuneration disclosures and reporting, including contributions to the Directors' Remuneration Report (DRR) and Annual Report. 

• Partner with teams across Finance, Company Secretarial and external remuneration advisers to gather information and deliver executive reward activities. 

• Contribute to executive reward projects, including pay policy reviews, incentive plan reviews and reward framework enhancements. 

• Drive continuous improvement through automation, data analytics and AI-enabled tools to enhance reporting, processes and decision-making. 

Essential Skills & Experience 

• Experience in executive reward, compensation or remuneration, gained either in-house or within a reward consultancy. 

• Strong understanding of executive compensation, annual incentive schemes and long-term incentive plans. 

• Proven ability to analyse complex data, build financial models and translate findings into meaningful business insights. 

• Experience in preparing high-quality materials for senior executives, governance forums or board committees. 

• Good understanding of corporate governance, remuneration regulations and market practices. 

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. 

• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. 

• High levels of discretion, attention to detail and sound judgement when handling sensitive information. 

• A proactive, collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation, including the use of AI and digital tools.

Future Location Notice:  This role will start in Sunbury, London. bp has announced a planned office move to Timber Square, London, with all positions currently advertised in Sunbury, including this one, expected to relocate around Q4 2027-Q1 2028.
