Join Mizuho as an Enterprise Architecture Process Lead!

About the Team

The IT Enterprise Architecture develops, governs, and evolves enterprise architecture to align technology with business objectives, promoting consistency, reuse, and simplification across the enterprise. The team provides leadership and guidance on architecture principles, standards, and guardrails.

Summary

As an Enterprise Architecture Process Lead, you will own the end-to-end design, optimization, and tooling of Mizuho’s enterprise architecture processes, strengthening governance and improving transparency across the technology landscape. In this hands-on role, you will define and continuously improve EA workflows, manage the EA tooling ecosystem (repository, Enterprise Architecture Intake, Approved Tech Stack workflows, and reporting dashboards), partner with the Operations and Governance Leads on SOPs and standards alignment, and drive Architecture Community of Practice enablement and training rollout to embed a consistent, effective architecture governance culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end Enterprise Architecture process design, optimization, and tooling by establishing clear workflows, governance touchpoints, operating procedures, and continuous improvement mechanisms that make architecture engagement more transparent, consistent, and effective across the organization.
  • Define, maintain, and continuously improve EA workflows from intake through solution design review, Architecture Review Council (ARC) decisioning, Architecture Decision Record (ADR) capture, and deployment readiness, ensuring each step has clear entry criteria, outputs, ownership, and controls evidence.
  • Own the EA Operating Model, including the RACI, engagement model, escalation paths, and interaction model between Enterprise Architecture, Group Architects, Solution Architects, and Domain Architects, ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined and consistently applied across delivery and governance activities.
  • Manage EA tooling and workflow enablement, including the architecture repository, Enterprise Architecture Intake, Approved Tech Stack workflows, data quality routines, reporting dashboards, and related process automation, to support timely decision-making, traceability, and measurable governance outcomes.
  • Partner closely with the Operations Lead to define and maintain standard operating procedures, service levels, intake practices, and execution cadences, while coordinating with the Governance Lead to ensure process design remains aligned to architecture standards, guardrails, policy expectations, and control requirements.
  • Drive Architecture Community of Practice enablement by developing training materials, rollout plans, playbooks, and communications that help architects and delivery teams understand EA processes, adopt new workflows, improve standards adherence, and contribute to a more consistent architecture governance culture.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, architecture governance, or IT process/operating-model design, with hands-on ownership of end-to-end EA processes, workflows, and continuous improvement.
  • Prior experience in the financial industry (e.g., bank, broker-dealer, asset manager, or fintech) is required.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a regulated financial services environment, with working knowledge of technology risk, audit, and control expectations (e.g., policy/standard compliance, exception handling, documentation discipline).
  • Demonstrated experience designing and improving architecture governance workflows—such as intake, design review, architecture review boards/councils, decision records (ADRs), and deployment readiness—including defining entry/exit criteria, outputs, ownership, and controls evidence for each step.
  • Proven ability to define and maintain operating models, including RACI, engagement/interaction models, and escalation paths across architecture roles (e.g., Enterprise, Group, Solution, and Domain Architects) and delivery and governance stakeholders.
  • Experience managing EA and architecture tooling—including architecture repositories, intake and approved tech stack (ATS) workflows, and ITSM/CMDB platforms (e.g., LeanIX, ServiceNow, Alfabet, Planview, or similar)—covering data quality management, governance workflow configuration, and process automation.
  • Proficiency in reporting and visualization (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau) to build and maintain dashboards and KPIs that track process health, throughput, cycle time, decision volumes, standards adherence, and governance outcomes.
  • Proven ability to partner with Operations and Governance leads, engineering, infrastructure, and security to drive outcomes through influence—defining SOPs and service levels, aligning process design to architecture standards and guardrails, and managing exceptions and escalations.
  • Strong documentation and process design skills, including authoring operating procedures, playbooks, RACI models, and controls evidence, and driving continuous improvement of workflows, taxonomies, and governance cadences; experience enabling an Architecture Community of Practice through training and rollout is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree and/or relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, BIAN, ITIL, FinOps, TBM) are a plus. Demonstrated ability to design and enforce EA processes and standards, build target-state operating models, and communicate process performance and governance insights through clear dashboards and executive-ready narratives.

The expected base salary ranges from $200K- $260K. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
