Engineering Supervisor
Location: Kalamazoo, MI

What You'll Do
Lead Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Testing Operations
- Provide leadership and direction to Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, and Test Operations teams.
- Drive a culture focused on safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Leadership teams to achieve plant objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Drive Operational Excellence
- Lead initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving methodologies to eliminate waste and improve processes.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing effectiveness and reduce the cost of nonconformance.
- Ensure customer requirements are consistently achieved through robust testing processes and performance validation.
Oversee Maintenance & Facilities
- Manage all plant maintenance activities, repairs, equipment upgrades, and facility improvement projects.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve equipment uptime, reliability, and overall operational performance.
- Coordinate and manage external contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and cost effectively.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Lead manufacturing readiness activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Quality teams to develop manufacturing processes, machining capabilities, assembly methods, plant layouts, tooling strategies, cost estimates, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure successful product launches through effective planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination.
Develop and Inspire Teams
- Build organizational capability through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and employee development.
- Foster an engaging and inclusive work environment that promotes accountability, recognition, and professional growth.
- Establish credibility and effectively influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, operations, maintenance, or a related industrial environment.
- Previous leadership experience supervising teams in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, and operational improvement techniques.
- Demonstrated success driving safety, quality, productivity, and cost-improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, or Continuous Improvement teams.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing-to-Order (MTO) environments.
- Experience supporting performance or product testing operations.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Continuous Improvement certification/experience.
- Experience with Oracle or similar ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, component prints, blueprints, and manufacturing routers.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and process development initiatives.
