À propos de ce poste Engineering Manager, Deals and Offers chez Chime Financial, Inc
About the role
Chime's Deals & Offers team helps members get more value out of everyday spend. We build the member-facing deals, cashback, and merchant-offer experiences, plus the offers platform underneath them: the deals catalog, personalization and discovery surfaces, attribution and measurement, and partner integrations that power it all. Our work turns everyday transactions into real savings and gives members a reason to reach for Chime first. The team also owns Chime Wireless, a 0-to-1 vertical product. This is a rare chance to build a new business from the ground up inside a company with millions of members, shaping the product, the systems, and the roadmap from scratch.
We are hiring a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead this team. This is a player-coach role: you will manage a group of engineers building both the consumer experiences and the backend systems that serve offers at scale, and you will stay in the code yourself, contributing to features and reviewing your team's pull requests. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Analytics, and partner teams to grow deal discovery, claim, and redemption, while keeping the underlying platform reliable and easy to build on. You will steer technical direction, lead by example, and develop the people on your team.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $199,000.00 and up to $275,000.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Lead, hire, and develop a high-performing engineering team, and grow engineers through their next stage of impact
- Stay hands-on: write and ship code on high-leverage projects, and set the technical bar by doing the work alongside your team
- Review your team's pull requests and lead design reviews, raising the bar for quality, testing, and maintainability through direct feedback
- Own the technical direction for the deals and offers surface, from member-facing discovery and redemption experiences to the platform that powers them
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and Analytics to grow deal attach, claim, and redemption, and to turn experiments into durable member value
- Establish a sense of urgency and direction, set clear team objectives in alignment with organization and company priorities, and hold a high bar for execution
- Drive architecture and technical decisions that keep the deals platform reliable, well-instrumented, and scalable as volume grows
- Manage partner and merchant integrations, working across engineering and external vendors to expand offer supply and improve measurement
- Ensure quality, performance, and operational health, including a healthy on-call and incident-response culture
- Contribute to broader SSI and Chime engineering initiatives as a member of the engineering leadership team
To thrive in this role, you have
- 2+ years of people management experience, including hiring and developing engineers
- Current, hands-on coding ability and the desire to stay technical; you are excited to contribute code and review PRs, not just manage
- Fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, and a track record of using them to raise your own and your team's leverage
- A strong technical foundation and the ability to guide architecture and review technical decisions with your team
- Experience shipping consumer product features and running experimentation, with a bias toward iteration and measuring impact
- Experience with service-oriented architectures and building or owning backend platforms at scale; familiarity with our stack (Ruby on Rails, React Native, AWS, distributed systems) is a plus
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with a track record of partnering closely with Product, Design, and Analytics
- Experience integrating with third-party partners or vendors is a plus
- Deep empathy for engineers and a genuine interest in how to make teams and people thrive
- The ability to motivate a team through delivery on aggressive schedules and goals
