Engineer / Senior Engineer – Cloud Services (Windows) 

About the Role 

We are looking for a technically strong and motivated Engineer / Senior Engineer – Cloud Services to join our Server Engineering team. 

The role focuses on managing, engineering, automating, securing, and continuously improving enterprise Windows workloads across AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, and Nutanix environments. 

You will work across Windows Server administration, cloud infrastructure, automation, machine image management, configuration management, monitoring, and infrastructure security. 

Beyond day-to-day operations, the role is focused on engineering solutions that reduce manual effort, improve reliability, standardize Windows workloads, and enable automated and self-service infrastructure capabilities. 

The successful candidate will also contribute to Platform Engineering and AIOps initiatives, leveraging automation, operational data, and AI to improve the reliability and efficiency of enterprise Windows environments. 

The position will be offered at the Engineer or Senior Engineer level, based on the candidate's experience, technical capability, and level of ownership. 

What You'll Do 

Windows Infrastructure Engineering 

• Manage, configure, troubleshoot, and continuously improve enterprise Windows Server workloads across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Nutanix.  

• Troubleshoot complex Windows Server issues related to OS, performance, networking, DNS, authentication, services, storage, certificates, access, and configuration.  

• Support the provisioning, lifecycle management, migration, upgrade, and decommissioning of Windows workloads.  

• Troubleshoot Windows-based applications and infrastructure components in collaboration with application and platform teams.  

• Investigate and resolve complex production incidents while maintaining defined SLAs and operational objectives.  

• Participate in incident, problem, and change management, including root cause analysis and preventive actions.  

Cloud Infrastructure 

• Provision and manage Windows workloads across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Nutanix.  

• Work with cloud services including compute, networking, storage, IAM, load balancing, DNS, monitoring, and security.  

• Design and implement scalable and standardized Windows infrastructure patterns.  

• Support hybrid-cloud Windows environments and integration between on-premises and cloud infrastructure.  

• Work with Azure Arc and other hybrid infrastructure management technologies.  

Security & Vulnerability Management 

• Identify, investigate, and remediate vulnerabilities across Windows servers and cloud workloads.  

• Work with vulnerability management platforms such as Wiz, Nessus, and other security tools.  

• Implement Windows security hardening based on CIS benchmarks and organizational security requirements.  

• Automate vulnerability remediation and configuration compliance where possible.  

• Work with security teams to investigate and resolve infrastructure security findings.  

• Support certificate, credential, secrets, and access-management requirements for Windows workloads.  

Platform Engineering & Self-Service 

• Contribute to Internal Developer Platform (IDP) capabilities for workloads.  

• Build reusable infrastructure modules and standardized deployment patterns.  

• Develop self-service provisioning capabilities for Windows servers.  

• Create automated workflows that enable application teams to provision and manage infrastructure through standardized processes.  

• Develop infrastructure guardrails to ensure security, compliance, and operational standards are automatically enforced.  

• Contribute to broader Platform Engineering initiatives focused on standardization, automation, scalability, and developer experience.  

Monitoring, Reliability & AIOps 

• Investigate recurring alerts, infrastructure failures, performance issues, and operational trends.  

• Identify opportunities to reduce alert noise and improve monitoring effectiveness.  

• Contribute to AIOps initiatives involving:  

• Incident correlation  

• Anomaly detection  

• Alert optimization  

• Predictive analysis  

• Automated remediation  

• Infrastructure health insights  

• Use infrastructure telemetry, logs, incidents, and monitoring data to identify recurring issues and implement proactive solutions.  

• Develop automated remediation capabilities for known Windows infrastructure issues.  

Required Qualifications & Experience 

Engineer 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.  

• Experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably AWS, with exposure to Azure and/or GCP.  

• Understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts including compute, networking, storage, IAM, and security.  

• Understanding on PowerShell scripting.  

• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.  

• Experience or exposure to Git and CI/CD technologies such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.  

• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.  

• Interest in automation, cloud engineering, and platform engineering.  

Senior Engineer 

• Typically 4+ years of experience in Windows Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 

• Strong hands-on experience managing enterprise Windows Server environments.  

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.  

• Strong understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, authentication, certificates, Windows networking, and Windows security.  

• Strong AWS knowledge with practical exposure to Azure and/or GCP.  

• Experience supporting production environments and handling complex infrastructure incidents.  

• Experience with incident management, problem management, RCA, and change management.  

• Strong experience with PowerShell automation.  

• Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation.  

• Experience with Ansible/AWX, Chef, Packer, or equivalent technologies.  

• Experience developing and maintaining Windows Gold Images / AMIs.  

• Experience with Windows patch management and vulnerability remediation.  

• Experience with CIS hardening and infrastructure security.  

• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms.  

• Ability to independently own complex technical problems and drive them to resolution.  

• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
