Overview – Role
The Engineer - Room Integrity & Fire Life Safety Testing will be a part of the dedicated Fire & Life Safety Testing team to provide specialist testing and inspection services for fire protection and life safety systems across the region.
Based in Jeddah, this role will primarily focus on Room Integrity Testing (Door Fan Testing) for clean agent and gaseous fire suppression systems in line with NFPA 2001 and ISO 14520. The role will support projects across Saudi Arabia and also cover other Fire & Life Safety testing activities, including smoke control and pressurization, fire alarm and suppression system testing, emergency lighting checks and other project-specific requirements.
Responsibilities·
- Plan and conduct Door Fan / Room Integrity Tests for clean agent and gaseous suppression systems in accordance with NFPA 2001 and ISO 14520, including hold-time calculations and leak identification.
- Set up, operate and maintain specialist Retrotec testing equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable test results.
- Conduct and support other Fire & Life Safety testing activities, including smoke control and pressurization, fire alarm and suppression system functional/integrated testing, and emergency lighting checks.
- Record and analyse test results, prepare technical reports, identify non-conformances and provide recommendations for leak sealing or remedial actions.
- Coordinate testing activities with contractors, consultants, facility operators and authorities, ensuring effective site execution and communication.
- Comply with all HSE, permit-to-work, security and site-specific requirements, particularly when working in live and operational facilities.
Qualifications
- A degree/diploma in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and having 3-5 years of relevant experience in fire protection, testing, commissioning or inspection
- Experience with Room Integrity / Door Fan Testing, NFPA 2001, ISO 14520 and Retrotec equipment would be highly advantageous.
- Good communication skills in English ,strong attention to detail, good reporting skills, safety awareness and the ability to work independently at site while coordinating effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Ready to travel as required, to meet projects requirements
