The opportunity
As an Electro/Mechanical Test Technician at Ontic, you'll work hands-on with the electronic and electro-mechanical products manufactured at our Creedmoor facility, helping ensure they are assembled, tested and calibrated to meet demanding aerospace standards.
You'll combine technical testing with troubleshooting and hands-on manufacturing support, using schematics, work instructions and specialized test equipment to identify issues and help keep production moving. You'll also work closely with engineering colleagues to troubleshoot, modify and repair units that don't meet requirements.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with hardware, solving technical problems and using their electronics and mechanical knowledge in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
What you'll be doing
- Perform electro-mechanical assembly, testing, calibration and inspection in accordance with approved work instructions and operating procedures.
- Set up and use test equipment and software, including oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, frequency generators, pressure controllers and multimeters.
- Troubleshoot electronic and electro-mechanical products containing printed circuit boards, modules and wiring.
- Work with engineering colleagues to troubleshoot, modify and repair units that do not meet test or quality requirements.
- Perform in-line and final inspection activities and maintain accurate test, calibration and production documentation.
- Maintain production test equipment and fixtures and troubleshoot equipment or process issues that arise.
- Provide hands-on manufacturing support to help resolve technical issues and meet production, quality and performance targets.
What you'll bring
- Associate degree in an electronics field or equivalent military training.
- At least 2 years of experience working in an electro-mechanical or electronic test environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics, troubleshoot technical issues and assist with developing test procedures.
- Proficiency using electronic test, inspection and calibration equipment.
- Hands-on manufacturing or shop-floor experience, with strong mechanical aptitude and an understanding of production fabrication and assembly.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide real-time production support and contribute to improvements in established processes.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
Candidates will be required to successfully complete job-related testing procedures and a physical dexterity assessment during the interview process.
