JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position leads the electrical and controls portions of equipment projects from concept through commissioning and production stabilization. The role develops safe, reliable, and standardized solutions that meet operational, documentation, and safety requirements while serving as a technical resource for PLC systems, industrial networking, operator interfaces, and equipment troubleshooting. This position collaborates with internal and external teams, suppliers, electricians, technicians, and engineers to successfully integrate equipment safely into production.
Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical and controls portions of equipment projects
- Develop and review electrical schematics, panel layouts, network architectures, and Bill of Materials (BOM's)
- ThinManager and industrial thin-client architecture
- Manufacturing Execution System (MES) integration and support
- Write machinery control functional specifications
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Create and execute FAT/SAT validation test plans
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment failures
- Develop and maintain machine risk assessments and safety validation documentation
- Design, modify, troubleshoot, and debug PLC and machine safety control systems
- Communicate electrical specifications and standards to suppliers
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, and IT teams
- Support continuous improvement, productivity, safety, and reliability initiatives
- Mentor and guide technicians, electricians, and engineers
- Provide or coordinate detailed estimates for controls and electrical work
- Travel requirements: Up to 10%

- Rockwell Automation control platforms, including Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, GuardLogix, FactoryTalk View ME/SE, FactoryTalk Linx, and RSLinx
- UL 508A industrial control panels and NFPA 70 and NFPA 79 requirements
- ANSI B11.19 / ISO 13849 machine safety standards
- PowerFlex Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) configuration and specification
- Kinetix servo drive configuration and specification
- Arc flash principles and analysis
- AutoCAD for wiring diagram development
- Sensor application and specification
- Experience with additional PLC, HMI, and motion control platforms, including Siemens, Beckhoff, AutomationDirect, and B&R
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Five or more years of relevant electrical, controls, automation, or manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience supporting industrial equipment, manufacturing operations, or capital equipment projects
- Experience with PLC programming, electrical controls design, equipment troubleshooting, and system commissioning

PROFIT SHARING: In 2026 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit Sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
