Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine safety, environmental, and security inspections and audits; identify gaps; implement corrective actions; and verify resolution through follow-up activities.
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, determine root causes, and ensure timely execution of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze EHS&S metrics, reports, and facility data to identify trends, measure performance, and recommend improvement opportunities.
  • Plan, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate EHS&S training programs, including topics such as hazard communication, lockout/tagout, hazardous waste management, and storm water management.
  • Serve as the site resource for EHS&S compliance, personnel and asset safety, emergency action planning, and security-related matters.
  • Manage regulatory agency inspections and maintain readiness for regulatory reviews and audits.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to plant personnel on environmental, health, safety, ergonomic, and security matters.
  • Collaborate with corporate and cross-functional teams to support enterprise EHS&S initiatives, promote consistency across locations, and share best practices.
  • Review capital projects and contractor activities to ensure compliance with applicable environmental and safety requirements.
  • Provide regular EHS&S performance updates, metrics, and initiative status reports to site leadership.
  • Support pollution prevention, resource efficiency, and continuous improvement efforts across facility operations.

Desired Competencies:

  • Communication: You clearly convey information, ideas, and expectations to diverse audiences, adjusting your message to ensure understanding and alignment.
  • Accountability: You take ownership of your responsibilities, follow through on commitments, and hold yourself to high standards for quality and results.
  • Problem Solving: You identify issues, assess root causes, and implement practical solutions that balance speed, quality, and risk.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in an industrial environmental, health, and safety function within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, safety, and security regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience applying machine guarding requirements within manufacturing or automated equipment environments.

  • Strong communication, recordkeeping, organizational, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and drive EHS&S objectives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and apply resourceful problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience supporting machining and assembly operations is preferred.
