Baystate Health is seeking a Emergency Department Assistant (EDA) to join our Emergency Department team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Our Emergency Department team provides care to a diverse adult patient population, working closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compassionate, high-quality care. 

Emergency Department Assistant Responsibilities Include:

·       Provides age-appropriate care in emergency, trauma, pediatric, and behavioral health settings.

·       Observes patients and reports changes in physical or behavioral conditions.

·       Assists with personal care, vital signs, mobility, transfers, positioning, and patient safety.

·       Performs assigned procedures and safely operates patient care equipment.

·       Maintains a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment.

·       Uses appropriate de-escalation, restraint, and safety procedures.

·       Completes behavioral health observation and safety duties as assigned.

·       Maintains accurate and timely patient documentation.

·       Completes required training and follows hospital policies and procedures.

Schedule Details 

·       Job Type: Full-Time, 36 hours per week 

·       Shift: Day, 7am-7:30pm

·       Schedule: 12-hour shifts 

·       Weekend Requirement: Every other Saturday and Sunday

·       Holiday Requirements: Every other Holiday
