Who You Are:

The E-commerce Photographer, Still Life is responsible for creating elevated, accurate, and consistent product imagery for the Michael Kors global e-commerce business.

This role owns the photographic execution of handbags, small leather goods, footwear, watches, jewelry, eyewear, fragrance, accessories, and other product categories photographed within the in-house studio. Working in close partnership with Still Life Stylists, Art Direction, Studio Operations, Digital Capture, Sample Management, and Post-Production, you will produce imagery that clearly communicates product design, material, construction, scale, and detail.

You bring a refined luxury sensibility to a high-volume production environment. You are highly technical, meticulous, and efficient, with the ability to solve complex lighting and product challenges while maintaining established brand standards.

What You’ll Do

• Photograph Still Life E-commerce Imagery: Execute high-quality product photography across handbags, small leather goods, footwear, watches, jewelry, eyewear, fragrance, and accessories.
• Own Product Image Quality: Ensure each image accurately represents the product’s color, material, shape, hardware, texture, construction, scale, and key design details.
• Lead the Still Life Set: Partner with Still Life Stylists, Digital Technicians, Assistants, and Studio Production to maintain an efficient set and deliver complete shot lists on schedule.
• Maintain Brand Consistency: Follow and help refine established lighting, framing, scale, angle, shadow, reflection, and crop standards across all product categories.
• Execute Required Image Views: Capture hero images, alternate angles, side and back views, interiors, soles, closures, hardware, material details, and other category-specific product views.
• Manage Technical Capture: Maintain accurate exposure, focus, depth of field, color balance, camera position, lens choice, and capture settings throughout production.
• Partner with Post-Production: Communicate retouching intent and product-specific considerations clearly, helping ensure that final assets remain accurate, polished, and consistent with the photographed product.
• Troubleshoot Product Challenges: Develop effective lighting and capture solutions for reflective hardware, patent leather, metallic surfaces, transparent materials, jewelry, watches, eyewear, and other technically demanding products.
• Support Production Targets: Work closely with Studio Operations to achieve daily shot counts while protecting image quality and product accuracy.
• Maintain Set Readiness: Help maintain still life bays, camera systems, lighting equipment, grip, surfaces, backgrounds, and capture workstations in production-ready condition.
• Contribute to Testing and Innovation: Participate in lighting tests, workflow reviews, new category development, equipment evaluations, and process improvements.
• Provide Team Support: Share technical knowledge with junior photographers, assistants, digital technicians, and freelance studio partners as needed.

You’ll Need to Have

• 4+ years of professional still life, product, or luxury e-commerce photography experience.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in handbags, footwear, accessories, jewelry, watches, beauty, fragrance, or similarly detailed consumer products.
• Advanced knowledge of studio lighting, composition, color management, depth of field, focus stacking, reflective surfaces, and product-specific capture techniques.
• Proficiency in Capture One Pro, Adobe Photoshop, professional camera systems, and studio lighting equipment.
• Experience working in a high-volume e-commerce or retail studio with established shot lists, naming conventions, production targets, and quality-control standards.

• The physical ability to work on active studio sets and safely handle photography equipment and product samples.
• Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Fine Arts, or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
